Farmhouse Wood Tray Thrift Store Makeover

Farmhouse Wood Tray Thrift Store Makeover Several months ago, I shared some thrift store finds and one of them was this wood tray. For the most part it was in good condition.  Just scuffed up and dirty. The wood just wasn’t my style.  Not bad, but just too dark for the farmhouse style I love. So it was definitely going to get a makeover. Let me show you what I did. I wiped off the dust and used my spray {Read More}

Thrift Store Shopping Thursday

These were my thrift store shopping finds once I got back from my trip to New Mexico. A woven wood picnic basket.  It’s in need of a makeover, so I have to decide what to do with it. A metal cake stand.  I’ll probably give it a makeover too. A handmade tin-punched sign.  I bought it for the frame.  Not sure what I’ll do with it yet, but I’ll think of something! My favorite find was 13 handmade pallet boxes. {Read More}

Thrifting Thursday

It’s Thursday and that means it’s time for thrifting! What’s even better than thrift store shopping? Getting stuff free! My mom gave me several things, so let’s start with those first. We have the same taste in farmhouse decor. She gave me an ironstone platter. She also gave me a vintage enamelware plate. My favorite was this farmhouse mini gate.  It’s just adorable.  I’m not sure what I’ll do with any of these yet, but I’ll find something! Next up {Read More}

Thrift Store Haul: April week 3

It’s Thursday and that means it’s time for another thrift store haul! I always walk through the section of the thrift stores with wooden items first and I found a bunch of things, which is rare lately it seems. First I found an old wooden clipboard. Sometimes I use them to display photos and ephemera. Other times I dress them up as seasonal decor.  I haven’t decided yet what I’ll do with this one.  It’s a little battered, so I’ll {Read More}

Thrift Store Thursday

I didn’t find very much at the thrift stores this week.  I don’t know if it was just because there wasn’t much to find or if I was being more selective.  I’m much more careful about bringing home things that I’m not sure if I’ll be able to use. I did find a few things though.

Are You a Collector? / New Thrift Store Finds

This will be a quick post because I have a question for you. Are you a collector of  anything? I’ve collected vintage clocks for a long time, but I kind of stopped buying them because they were so expensive everywhere I saw them.  I do love my collection of ironstone pitchers.

To Paint or Not to Paint : Recent Thrift Store Finds

To paint, or not to paint?  That is the question I hope you can help me with. My daughter’s vehicle was acting up, so we had to drop her off at work. The town where she works is nearby, so I went to a thrift store after dropping her off and scored some good deals! This wood recipe box was my first find. I always check the sections in thrift stores for their wood items. The wood is in good {Read More}
