Are you all sick to death of seeing our tiered stands? I hope not, because my husband and I finished a few more of them for the shop, so I thought I’d show them to you. I’m always searching for great-looking vintage bowls and pans, and save them up until I can put together the right combination to make a stand.
Occasionally, I get lucky and find a set of bowls and pans that match, which makes the project easier. This stand was created from 3 tiered cake pans. This is actually the 2nd set like it I’ve found, and both had beautiful patina.
We almost always use portions from antique bed posts for the spindle that divides the tiers. I paint and distress them, and my husband assembles them (because I’m terrible at getting the holes centered in the middle of the pans!)
These 2 enamelware bowls weren’t found together. I got the smaller, top bowl first, then later found the lower bowl, which is a big one, so it had plenty of storage room. It is the epitome of farmhouse-style.
This one is made from 2 vintage pie tins.
The section of headboard post that we used for the spindle is really well aged, so I didn’t paint it.
This one is made from a pie tin paired with some kind of metal sifter bowl.
I’ve gotten several of these in the past, and have never figured out exactly what they were used for – maybe a colander? If you know, please solve the mystery for me!

Pie tins and pizza pans with holes in them are designed that way to help brown the bottom crust. Love these! Very creative!

I Want to Try One, But Need Help in How or What You Use to Connect it all Securely Together…Do You Use Screws and Glue ? Do You have Glass and Porcalain ones too…and if so, are they put together with Glue only ? Please Help Me Grasp this Concept. Thank You in Advance…Texan Too !!!
I’m not sure who you are – you show up as a no-reply blogger, but hopefully you’ll see this. I don’t do glass ones, so I can’t tell you the best way to connect them. I use screws that are threaded on both ends to connect the pans to the spindles, and regular screws under the wood base at the bottom, through the bottom pan, into the spindle above it. Hope that helps!

Please can you tell me how you make these? I am a enamelware collector and I’m sure I have a couple I could convert, if I can bear to drill a hole. Surely I could convince my husband to drill the holes, or maybe my brother-in-law. These just make me drool. 🙂

Love your stands! I made something similar using glass candle stick holders as the center pieces. Great Christmas gifts.
Just made one of these the other day, using a beautiful whitewashed rustic candlesticks, beautifulyet neutral beige plate!!! Came out GORGEOUS!!
The pie tin with the holes is to crisp the bottom crust on the pie. Some people have a hard time getting the bottom crust baked without burning the top. They were also used when shaping cheese wrapped in cheesecloth to drain the liquid off. Love your designs.
