These 3 wonderful images of dress forms are from
the early 1900’s and were sent to me by
This one was in an ad in a 1911
“The Modern Priscilla” magazine and
is a Hall-Borchert adjustable dress form.

I’ve removed all of the background from it,
so if you use programs like Photoshop or Gimp,
you can layer it over other images, like this.
The next two images both came from a 1913
“The Modern Priscilla” magazine. The backgrounds
have not been removed from these images.
This one is is also Hall-Borchert adjustable form.
The image on the left is in black and white and
the one on the right is the original color tone, if you want the aged paper look.
This dress form was a Venus adjustable dress form
sold by the Acme Sales Co.

Oh Angie, You must have read my mind. I was thinking today of creating a bookmark using a dressform but the graphics I have on my computer, I’ve already used a couple of times and so I was going to put it off until I would find a new image. Now I can go ahead and do what I had planned to. Thank you so much!
Hugs,
Julia
Aren’t those some gorgeous images? Old dressforms are really a thing of beauty! Thanks for sharing!
What beautiful dressforms! Thank you for the many options, too. One of the images printed on antique sheet music, as you have shown, or an antique dictionary page, and framed would be a perfect gift for a seamstress or high school home ec/sewing teacher!
I am so excited about being one of the winners of the Packaways giveaway!!! Thank you for sponsoring such a fun contest!: )
I love the old dressforms. I love browsing through old catalogs from the early 20th century – you come up with some amazing stuff.
I’m so happy about being a winner of the Packaways giveaway! Looking forward to finding some uses for them!!
Those dress forms are soooo cool. I love mine, so I had to save your images! Thanks so much for joining me for Pearls and Lace Thursday. It’s soooo good to be back!
