The minute the calendar flips to March, I start chomping at the bit for sunshine, green grass and fresh flowers.
It’s still too chilly for an outdoor project, so I brainstormed a bit and came up with something that would usher Spring indoors until the weather catches up with me, and here’s what I came up with…
Flower Seed Packets Home Sign
To create it, I removed the frame from my Autumn Coat Rack Sign. The frame is easy to make, and we’ve used the same method for several other projects.
The tutorial to make the frame is HERE.
Remember my Junky Home Sign? Well, I want Spring more than I want junk right now, so I unscrewed the letters for my new sign.
I made a collage of the Printable Vintage French Seed Packets, and had it printed as an 18×24 color engineering print at Staples for under $3. Click here for the full size printable.
I decoupaged it onto a piece of scrap wood, which was cut to fit the frame. I always use a mixture of school glue and just a bit of water to decoupage, because it’s less expensive that Modge Podge.
I let it dry completely, then screwed the wood letters across the middle of the decoupaged wood.
The two coat hooks I had previously attached to the frame were perfect to hang a few mini galvanized buckets (affiliate link) full of daisies and some pencils.
My stack of flower pots are ready and waiting to get put back into use, and I’ll be starting some seeds in them very soon.
Until them, at least Springtime is blooming in my kitchen!
