All You Need is Love … Plus Some Good Medicine

I’m a total multitask person.  I never do just one thing at a time, and I’m always thinking of the next thing I need to work on.

But this week …

… This week my get-up-and-go just got up and left.

And it didn’t look back to see if I was going to follow.

I spent several days coughing, sneezing, and blowing my nose.

My husband went to the store, bought me some cough medicine, and made sure I took it every four hours.

My inner gas tank was on empty and I didn’t have an ounce of energy left.

My husband had suggested several times that I should go see a doctor, but I resisted.  I  hated to see a doctor for a silly cold that just needed to run its course.

But by the fourth day, I could tell it had moved into my chest and I felt like I had a small child sitting on me, making it hard to breath.

So when he offered to drive me to the doctor, I finally listened and let him.

I got a steroid shot in the office and prescriptions for antibiotics, an inhaler, and more cough medicine.

He picked up my medicine, bought me dinner, then brought me back home and got me to bed.

I got the first halfway decent night of sleep I’d had in days.  I hope in another day or two I’ll start to feel more rested and my get-up-and-go will finally come back.

I have several projects in the works that I didn’t have the energy to finish, so I’m looking forward to getting back to them.

Thanks to my hubby, I know it’s true that all you need is love …

but a little medicine helps too. 🙂

  1. Hugs Angie, sometimes we have to listen to our dear husband when we are just too darn sick to make a good decision (yes, been there too). Rest, water, rest, etc.

Angie, love this post in spite of your feeling so poorly. You always manage to provide something so enjoyable and creative. Hope you feel better soon!

  5. Sorry you are sick. My Ear, Nose & Throat doctor told me to NEVER use anything with menthol. I was still coughing after I stopped smoking (yippee!!!) and the doctor said the menthol cough drops were making me cough. When I stopped using them, I stopped coughing. Hope you feel better soon.

  6. No fun. Hope you are back on your feet soon, Angie! Your husband is a keeper!

  9. Colds…..yuck……especially spring/summer colds. Why do they feel so much worse???
    Wishing you a quick recovery.
