Repurposed Plastic Bucket to Garden Supplies Caddy
Turn a cat litter bucket into the prettiest garden supplies caddy with just a few supplies. It’s so easy to do and it keeps plastic buckets out of the landfills and turns them into a little storage tote for all your gardening tools!
When I first introduced you to Jack and Sawyer, they were very small kittens too young to even be away from their mother.
But they were picked up by a police officer my daughter knows (she works at a 911 call center). So she picked them up right away before they could be sent to animal control where she knew they would be put down.
My daughter loved them right from the start and so did Mary Jane (my daughter’s older cat) who treated them like they were her own kittens.
Well, they’re all grown up now and don’t live in my house anymore.
Since my daughter has her own home now, she is quickly discovering how the buckets of cat litter multiply. With three cats using two litter boxes, she uses a lot of cat litter!
She orders online with Target Subscriptions so she never runs out of cat litter.
I thought I would take one of them off her hands to make a garden supplies caddy. It was so easy to make.
What you’ll need to make a Garden Supplies Caddy:
- Purina® TIDY CATS® Free & Clean™ Unscented Clumping Litter
- White spray paint
- Seed packet printables HERE
- Clear shipping labels full sheet
How to make a Garden Supplies Caddy:
- Remove the lid and handle from the bucket. I painted my handle but later realized it’s better if you don’t.
- Spray paint the front and sides of the bucket or just leave them yellow.
- Make 3 copies of seed packet printables on clear shipping labels.
- Trim the white border off and apply to front and sides of the bucket.
- Replace the handle and the lid.
- Fill the bucket with gardening tools or bird food, if desired.
-
It’s done!

What’s so great about the new TIDY CATS Free and Clean is that it’s 99.9% dust-free with strong clumps for easy cleanup, it’s free of fragrances and dyes, and it has activated charcoal that locks away odors.

Vaya con Dios,
Love this idea, I have to ask about those cute kittens, is your daughter a fan of LOST, only because of the names she chose, Jack and Sawyer were big favourites with everyone I think….
Enjoy your day..x
Janette, Yes yes she was!
So-ooo pretty. Love the seed packet image. I repurposed a kitty litter tote into a pool storage bin. I don’t have a cat, but have friends that do. Those kitty litter totes are so useful!
Thanks Susan. They sure come in handy! I need to make another tote for my tools so my family will stop swiping them.
I love to see a project that reuses something instead of filling up the landfills. Thanks for sharing at #HomeMattersParty
