Repurposed Drawer Plant Shelf

After finding a battered cabinet on the curb and using it for several years, I knew it was time to repurpose it. The cabinet isn’t in good shape, but it made good storage for a time. If we ever hope to finish remodeling our bedroom, that cabinet needs to be gone! So, I upcycled one of the drawers into the PERFECT farmhouse repurposed drawer plant shelf.  And here’s how I did it!

Stenciled Vintage Suitcase | What a Wonderful World

 What a Wonderful World Stenciled Vintage Suitcase Recently, when my son and daughter-in-law were visiting, we went to Hannibal, MO, to visit the shops downtown. In one of my favorite shops I found a vintage suitcase at a great price. My husband asked why I wanted it. To be honest, I had no idea!   I thought about painting it because it’s dinged up, but I just couldn’t decide.

Santa’s Naughty List Christmas Elf Time Out Chair

Santa’s Naughty List Christmas Elf Time Out Chair Sometimes you have to be at the right place at the right time, right? You see, as soon as I spotted this little child’s chair, I knew it was meant for me to find it. Even though it had an old unappealing finish, the $3.99 price tag was well worth it for such a sturdy little chair. I had cute plans for it!

Farmhouse Christmas Tree Farm Repurposed Drawer

How to Create Farmhouse Christmas Decor from an Old Drawer After finishing the repurposed Christmas cabinet door, I moved on to another repurposing project. This time, a drawer for Christmas. I’ve been busy clearing out unused stuff, donating a lot and repurposing or upcycling what I can. It came from one of these small sets of drawers that I was given six years ago.  I added glass knobs to them and had one in my guest room. The other one {Read More}

Farmhouse Christmas Cabinet Door Sign

Rustic Farmhouse Christmas Cabinet Door Sign I know, it’s insanely early to be thinking about Christmas. But craft stores are already discounting fall items and bringing in Christmas decor, so that tells me I need to start stocking my Etsy shop with Christmas items too.  That’s why you will be seeing Christmas projects popping up here on the blog.

DIY Chalkboard Projects

Since it’s back-to-school time, the first thing that comes to my mind is chalkboards.  So today I’m talking about DIY Chalkboard Projects. Chalkboards seem out of date in many classrooms, but they are still hugely popular, especially as chalkboard projects. Most of these projects were done with good old Chalkboard Paint and a brush. It’s inexpensive and makes a lot of projects. Some were done with spray paint and one was a purchased chalkboard, cut to size. First up is a {Read More}

Cheese Cloche Upcycled Into Mini Pumpkin Patch

There are certain things that I always find at thrift stores.  Nearly every time I go, I find a cheese cloche or dome tray. What do you call them? After pondering what to do with one I found several months ago, I finally knew what I would do with it. A centerpiece for fall or winter. And I set out to do just that!

Small Side Table Upcyled In Black and White Buffalo Check

Small Side Table Upcyled in Black and White Buffalo Check Do you ever buy furniture at thrift stores or yard sales?  I don’t often, but when I found  a pair of these small side tables at a thrift store for $15 for the set, I couldn’t pass them up. Clearly, the previous owners have kids because they had dried food all over them. As a mom of four, no judgement here! After cleaning really well, it was time to transform {Read More}

First Aid Kit Toolbox Makeover for Home or Travel

My thrift store metal toolbox didn’t sell in my Etsy shop.  It was pretty dinged and scratched up, so I wasn’t surprised. So rather than donate it, I decided to turn it into a first aid kit toolbox. Would you believe, after raising four kids, we have never had a real first aid kit?  We just had random supplies in two bathrooms. We had to search through drawers and cabinets whenever someone got an injury. Better late than never, right? {Read More}
