Mercantile Corner Market Collection
Today I have four projects that I finished last week: a serving tray, a box frame wood sign, a plate charger, and a chalkboard. All were made with the Mercantile Corner Market Collection.
The Corner Market Collection is so popular and versatile, it made the cover of the Spring/Summer Catalog!
The Corner Market Collection is the perfect collection for anyone who loves the farmhouse style! I absolutely love the four transfers that are in this collection. Let’s take a look!
Mercantile is the one that I used for these projects.
One of the things I love about this collection is the amount of pieces that come with it. You can use the scale on its own, or just the word “Mercantile.” There are so many options. I’ve used five of the eight pieces included.
Do you remember when I asked for ideas about how to use some thrift store finds? I tried staining the platter, as one person suggested, but it had a sealer on it which prevented the stain from soaking in.
So I went with someone else’s suggestion of painting it and another person’s idea of using a Chalk Couture design on it. I actually used two.
The platter isn’t food safe now, but can be used as a serving tray or a centerpiece on a table, which is how I would use it.
It’s available in my Etsy shop now HERE.
Next, I made a box frame sign using the vintage scale with”Black Sheep Wool.”
I had already chalked on the back with the vintage truck, so this is a double sign!
It’s available with a lowered price HERE. I hope it goes to a good home!
Next, I upcycled a $2 display plate from Hobby Lobby with just the scale and added a ribbon hanger with hot glue.
Last, I did a sign on a Magnetic Chalkboard. The black and white combo looks striking.
As you can see, I didn’t use the word “Mercantile” at all. I’ll be using that on a later project.
Do you have a favorite of these? Which is it? I’d love to hear!

Vaya con Dios,

Angie, they turned out so nice! I couldn’t decide between the plate and the painted frame. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks Jackie! I think my favorites are the wood frame sign and the plate.
My favorite is the sign with the sheep on it, Angie. I was wondering if there is a stencil with a black and white cow on it as I am building a collection of cows. I guess I should look through the catalog.
I also like the white plate with the scale stencil. I’d like a whole set of white dishes in that pattern!
I love them too Naomi. These are cheap but not glass.
I love ALL of these projects!
Is there not a link to look at the “New 2019 Spring/Summer Collection?”
Thanks for catching that Tina! It’s here – https://essentials.chalkcouture.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/ss-catalog-2019.pdf
