Cutting Board Makeover
Do you remember this cutting board?
It was one of my thrift shop finds I shared a few weeks ago.
Confession time …
I barely passed French in high school, but I think the language is beautiful.
Bon Appétit seemed fitting words to do this cutting board makeover.
Here’s the inspiration project from Chalk Couture. So très chic!
Cutting Board Makeover Supplies:
I have included affiliate links for items used.
Cutting Board (these are similar to mine)
Wood Stain
Sandpaper (if needed)
Stencil or Transfer (I used the Bon Appetit transfer)
Paint or Chalk Paste (I used Fresh Linen and Honeydew)
Paintbrush or Squeegee
Cutting Board Makeover Directions:
Step 1
Sand the cutting board as smooth as possible and stain.
Let dry overnight.
I picked off the pear and feet before sanding.
Step 2
Cut out the transfer designs on the cut lines and “fuzz” them on a cloth.
Press firmly, making sure there are no bubbles.
Step 3
Chalk it up with a squeegee.
Step 4
Repeat the process with the leaves and olives.
** Note the leaves have gaps. That’s where the olives go.
Step 5
Clean the transfers and squeegee. I also make sure the paste jar is clean and spritz some water in it before putting the lid on.
Totally forgot to take a photo after chalking the leaves and olives. My bad.☹️
But this is the end result.
Pair with a bottle of Olive Oil, some French bread, and tea towels for a perfect DIY housewarming gift!
I’m offering a discount bundle price that includes this transfer plus your choice of one 3 oz. container of chalk paste and a small squeegee The retail price is $42.97. My bundle price is only $33 + tax and shipping.

Beautiful transformation!
Thanks so much Becky!
Angie, after many years of receiving your blog via email, I’m finding that it no longer fits my life as a senior in a tiny “finished” retirement home. The blog is still wonderful but just doesn’t relate to me any longer. Some time ago, I asked you how to stop receiving your blog by email but I have not received an answer. I cannot find anything to click to opt out on the web page which is unusual as most bloggers give readers that option. Please email me to let me know how to stop the messages coming. Thank you.
All the best to you,
Sharon
