You all know I love old clocks, right? Well, I love lots of old things, but clocks and timepieces are at the top of my list of things I like to collect. When I was notified by Korrie of Red Hen Home that I won her giveaway of a sign created by her, I was thrilled!  Korrie creates not only wonderful signs, but does some of THE most impressive, creative and unique  furniture makeovers I’ve ever seen.   Korrie let me {Read More}

Nuts & Bolts Magnet Board

When I brought home at least 50 pounds worth of scrap metal, junk, and hardware “stuff” froman auction recently, there were oodles of nuts, bolts and screws. Now, I love rusty old metal, but I was seriously drawing a blank of what I could do with all that hardware, so I put them all in tin cans in my workshop, and figured they’d sit there forever. Little did I know that a project would quickly get created with some of {Read More}

Get the Look – Antique Farmhouse Chalkboard

Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware, Ballard Designs, Antique Farmhouse,… So much to love…so little budget. I sure hate to let all that inspiration go to waste, so after my first attempt at creating a knock-off project{my Restoration Hardware “metal” stencil knock-off}, I decided to try my hand at a few other knock-off projects. None of these projects will require a lot of time or advanced skills, because few of us have either! Today’s knock-off was inspired by a Round Wall Chalkboard & Magnet {Read More}

{Undressed}

This gal may be old, but she’s got beautiful bones, doesn’t she? Somewhere through the years, she got “undressed”, but I think that’s part of her charm.  I keep thinking about getting her reupholstered, she’s elegant just the way she is, even if not very practical as furniture.  If I had a bricks and mortar shop, I’d let her great everyone at the doorway.  I wonder what she looked like in her younger years.  I’m sure she was a real “looker”.  This {Read More}

Antique Graphics Wednesday – 1900’s Suitcase Trunk Advertisements

Antique and vintage suitcases and trunks are very hot items in decorating right now. Not only do they look wonderful, but they make great storage as well. These images of antique suitcases came from the advertising section of two college yearbooks from 1912 and 1914.  I love all the photos and advertisements I’ve gotten from these yearbooks, as they are such a window back in time. Here’s the 1st suitcase with the rest of the advertisement removed, with a slightly {Read More}

Hope your day is filled with sweet memories, Angie Due to unethical websites stealing content, I can no longer provide a full RSS feed. I work too hard to produce {Read More}

Little Cottage Bucket

On my long list of things I love, somewhere near the top would be old galvanized buckets. Actually, I love galvanized anything, but I love that buckets can do more than sit and look pretty –  they are useful at the same time. This old bucket had plenty of rust inside, but was surprisingly free of rust on the outside, so I decided to give it a shabby cottage makeover. Here’s how it looked to start. See all that rust {Read More}
