repurposed Starbucks bottle … because it’s cute, right?

Am I the last person in the world to realize that Starbucks bottles look like old pint-sized milk bottles? Well, they kinda-sorta do, right? Okay, it might be a bit of a stretch, but if you have a good imagination, and some white paint, it could pass for a milk bottle right? Actually, that doesn’t really have anything much to do with my post today, but just play along, okay?

DIY Farmhouse Kitchen Wall Art

A few days ago, I shared a wonderful vintage can label printable with a cow on it, and today I’m going to show you how I turned it into farmhouse kitchen wall art.  As with most of my projects, this one was super easy and took about 30 minutes to complete, but that included painting time, which you may not choose to do. Here are the supplies I used: copy of  can label (HERE) thrift store frame school glue paintbrush – at least {Read More}

Farmhouse Friday #3 – Canning Jars

When deciding on the themes I wanted to have for Farmhouse Friday, the thought occurred to me that our grandparents and great-grandparents probably never dreamed of all the things we do with objects that were purely utilitarian to them, and the simple canning jar is a prime example of that.   Aside from the obvious food use that previous generations had for them, there are now literally 1,000’s of new ways to use them.  I’m sharing some of my favorite ways to {Read More}

DIY Framed Vintage Seed Bag

Do you remember that big blank space I had over my antique kitchen stove… that space I filled with a rustic framed chalkboard?  Well, I did it again – I sold the chalkboard and ended up with a big blank space once again.  It wasn’t any big deal though, and I planned to make another one of those chalkboards, but then I found this old feed bag that I’ve had for several years.  Instead of making a frame for a chalkboard, I {Read More}

Repurposed Half Table into Nightstand

My bedroom remodel is coming along … ssslowlyyyy, since my husband can only work on it on his days off, and then only if something else isn’t going on, so to keep myself from having impatient, nagging fits, I’ve been working on projects for the bedroom.   The minute this remodel is finished, I’ll be moving all my finished projects in while my husband is carrying his tools out.  The dust won’t even settle before I start dragging things in! I’ve {Read More}

DIY Bird Silhouette Candle Holder

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter.  We drove to Arkansas to visit one of my sons at college.  It was a brief trip, but it’s always nice to see him, plus he was running out of meals tickets to use in the college cafeteria, so I loaded him up with enough food to hold him over until school gets out. Last week I shared this bird silhouette music page on Facebook, and one of my followers requested that I come up {Read More}

DIY Clay Tags with Graphics

 I’ve been slightly obsessed with image transfers lately.  I’ve done transfers on wood, canvas, and glass, but there’s another medium I thought I try – clay.  I just finished painting a basket to hold hand towels in my bathroom, and thought a clay tag would dress it up a bit.

DIY Milk Bottle Flower Vase

I few days ago, I received an order to make another one of my Milk & Cream Co. signs.  I still love the design and have used it on a few other projects in the past, but after making and selling more than 40 of the the signs, I feel like I could do it in my sleep, so it doesn’t feel all that creative to me anymore. As I finished the sign, I started thinking about other ways I could {Read More}

Image Transfer on Glass

Yesterday I showed you my new twine dispenser with an antique graphic on it, and I promised that today I would share how to add an image transfer on glass.  You’ll never throw an empty food jar away again, once you see how easy it is to do! Although the process is similar to doing a regular image transfer, there is no transfer medium used, and the image isn’t permanent, so it’s also like putting a removable decal on glass. Let’s get started!
