I told you last week you might be seeing more brown paper projects, because I’m on a brown paper kick right now. I decided to challenge myself to see how many projects I can come up with using it. I don’t know if I’ll do it all year, but I’ll do it as long as it’s still fun!
This time, I made some adorable alphabet and number tags. Technically, I used brown craft cardstock paper, not regular grocery bag kind of paper, although it looks the same, but is a thicker weight.
They remind me of metal miner’s tags, which I love.
I made a set for all the dates in the month, and the full alphabet, then I had fun hanging them on baskets and bottles.
Old apothecary bottles always look pretty, but I think the numbered tags look adorable on them. I cut mine the tags using my Silhouette. They are about 1″ in diameter, but you could cut larger tags with full words on them, and use them as organization labels on baskets and bins.

Happy New Year!
Oh very cute Angie… did you design these yourself or were they from the Silhouette store? They are adorable!
Susan, I just used a round shape to cut the border, and a stencil font for the numbers and letters.
Your tags are cute! I don’t have a silhouette, (would love to have one), but I did buy me a rectangles tag punch that I’ve been playing around with some. Thanks for sharing and have a great day!
Hi Angie! I love the tags! Would you do a tutorial on how to cut these in the Silhouette? I haven’t learned to use mine as I should and would so love to make these! Thanks for sharing all you do! Blessings from Bama!
Felecia, these are very easy. I just used the round shape tool for the border, and used a stencil font to do the letters and numbers. You can find stencil fonts at dafont.com that are free. Once you download them, they’ll show up as a font in Silhouette for you.
Super cute!
Love the tags! I copy Felicia’s sentiments – would appreciate a tutorial but understand if that would be too time consuming. What type of paper-bag-like paper did you use and where would we find it?
Your site is a delight in my life. Thank you!
Deborah, I buy a large roll of brown paper at Lowes, and it lasts FOREVER. We papered our entire bathroom floor with a roll, and still had over half of the roll left over when we were done. I’ll go back and added more directions into the post to explain the process better.
You make a brown paper bag look good! Love the projects!
Great idea Angie … thanks for the inspiration. Hope to get a lot of projects done with my Silhouette this year.
Happy 2015.

Angie, I love the tags. I do not have a Silhouette nor do I want one. I would like you to make and sell these in your etsy shop for those of us with less patience. If you so this, please let us know in a post so I can get them. Thanks. Blessings
