Antique Window Framed Flag Display

There is a big blank space on one side of our barn where I plan to make and hang another barn quilt, but when I found a retired flag at a thrift store, I decided to make a flag display to hang there during the summer months.  I still have quite a few antique windows in my stash, and I found one that was the perfect size for the flag.

I love how the colors in the flag coordinate so well with the blue barn quilt.

This side of the window has just a bit of chippy reddish paint on it.  All the rest of the paint has flecked off, so lots of the natural wood shows too.

Once summer is over, I’ll store this flag display away, so it doesn’t become too weathered, and hopefully replace it with another barn quilt to display the rest of the year.  I still haven’t decided what design I want to use yet, but I need to make up my mind quick so my college son can help me with drawing the lines on a board before he goes back to school in the fall.
