With July 4th just around the corner, it’s time to deck the farmhouse with patriotic decor! I’ll admit, I do very little holiday decorating, other than Christmas, so choosing this theme was a stretch for me, but not only did I come up with a new project, I have 20+ more patriotic projects by other bloggers that I think you’ll love!
If you missed any of the previous Farmhouse Friday themes, you can find them all HERE.
First, here’s a project that I think you’ll love using the Home of the Brave stencil.
For my project, I used this handmade wooden step stool. It came with the RV we bought a few years ago, and it has seen better days.
Since I don’t like to store a lot of holiday decor, I wanted to give it a makeover, but keep it simple so that it could be used throughout the year.
Nothing could be simpler than sanding off the pealing sealer that was on it, then painting and distressing it a bit.
Depending on how it’s used, it works for July 4th and Christmas, but really could be used any time.
It looks so cute used as a pedestal serving stand to hold food! It could also be used on a mantle or dresser to give some height to a display.
This project was as easy can be – Retired Flag in Window Display. Instant WOW!
I have just a few other patriotic projects I’ve done in the past as well.
I made these book page pinwheels a few years ago, and I think they’d look so cute with the addition of red and blue buttons in the center. Attaching them to quirky tings like old spindles, springs and a spool of thread makes the display more fun and interesting.
I repurposed a book cover and used an antique flag image to create this Flag Book Cover Art. The flag image is a free printable!
I have several other printables available that are perfect for the 4th of July.

Hi Angie,

I love that sweet little stool…you’ve made it super-functional by keeping it subtle…I’d definitely keep that out all year long…but then, I’m crazy for red, most especially that shade of it! And those jelly beans have me wishing I had some on hand right now…but what a wonderful idea for a little hostess gift, favours for a child’s party, or even a gift for your favourite teacher!
I love some good patriotic decor! Thanks for sharing my flag!
