Antique Graphics Wednesday – June 5 – 1920’s Photograph & Sheet Music

Sorry, I didn’t share any antique graphicswith you yesterday.  My internet was sketchy whileon the train, so I was only able to finish my postabout being on the train.  Here they are today though. I’ve got an assortment of images for you. The first is this adorable gal. Look at those dimples!  Is she cute or what? She looks like the Katie Couric of the 20’s. This is the inside cover for some beautiful sheet music. The “frame” around the title {Read More}

{Get the Look} – Antique Farmhouse Wash Tub

Once again, I’m trying to get the look of another product from Antique Farmhouse, without the price tag,and once again, it was way too easy! This Rustic Oval Wash Tub sold for $42 (sold out) I laughed when I saw it because I hada similar one that’s been sitting in my garage for months. I find these pretty regularly in thrift stores & auctions,so the thought of paying $42 for a reproductionseems a little silly to me (but thanks for {Read More}

Riding the Rails

Hi Everyone!  My son and I are really enjoying our journey. We were blessed to get what I think were the best seats on the entire train.  We’re in the last car on the train, and it only has 8 seats total and there are only 2 other people in the car with us,  so it seems almost like we have our own car. We were each able to spread out and have 2 seats, instead of 1. We passed {Read More}

The Same Old Question

I’m going to preface this post by saying, I love my husband. I’ve shown you the work he’s done on our house… and the one before this one… and the one before that one… (well, you didn’t see that one, because it was 2 states and 7 years ago).He’s very talented and willing to take onnearly any project idea I throw at him, (with a slight bit of begging). I want to also say that he’s an extremely bright guy.   {Read More}

I came across this sweet illustration with the phoneticspellings of words in a child’s school reader and it seemed a perfectway to welcome the 1st day of June. {Get the Look} – Relique Bicycle Seat on Stand

The inspiration for today’s “Get the Look” project came from Relique.com, who sells a set of 5 Bicycle Seats on Stands for $659…OUCH! Their price tag gives me heart palpitations, but I can spend a ridiculous amount of time on their website. They carry some seriously interesting stuff. While 5 of them do look interesting grouped together, I don’t have 5, but I did already have this 1 rusty, old bicycle seat. Looking through my stash of junque (it doesn’t {Read More}

It’s in the Bag

If I went to every yard sale, thrift store and auction  the rest of week and all of them were duds, I’d still be content because I came home with this from the auction tonight. I love the handles and the buckle on it.  The funny thing is, I didn’t even win this at the auction. I won 5 boxes full of JUNK (and it truly was junk), and I only wanted a few things out of 1 of the {Read More}

Mom, you said that already

My kids frequently let me know that I repeat things I’ve already said.  I’m sure that’s true, but I also know they only listen half the  time, so what can I do but repeat everything? I’m telling you this to warn you that there is a good possibility I’m repeating myself to you today…but I’m not sure…so pretend you’re hearing it for the first time and humor me, okay? I am certain I’ve told you all about the  wood and {Read More}

Chipping Away

There’s nothing quite like wood that has aged naturally, and if it’s old wood with chipping paint, so much the better. There are about a million and one things to do with old wood,so here’s some of my contributions to that number. You may not recognize the wood from thisCottage Coat Rack I made, but if you’ve been aroundmy blog long or are familiar with my Etsy shop,then you’ve seen it tons of times. For nearly 2 years, I’ve used this {Read More}
