Free Printables – Antique Cow Image Advertisement Transfer Projects

Normally, I only post antique graphics on Wednesdays, but I have a few new antique advertisement images that I used on several different projects, so you are getting both the printable images, as well as my projects today. I bought a stack of antique books that were all pretty damaged, but hoped to be able to salvage a few images from them.  Among them was this 1917 almanac booklet, put out by the makers of Dwight’s Cow Brand Soda.  Fortunately, {Read More}

On the Workbench and In the Shop

You may want to grab yourself a hot drink, and make yourself comfortable, because this post is photo-heavy. During our drive to and from Michigan last week, to deliver “Big Blue” to his new home, my husband and I stopped at as many thrift and antique stores as we could, although we passed so many we didn’t have time for.  I’m itching to go on another road trip now – preferably when it isn’t snowing though.  Everything shown in this {Read More}

Grain Sack Fabric and Antique Postcard Image Dry Erase Board

I love antique postcards, and created a dry erase board using the text from the back of one to create a dry erase board. The photos are fairly self-explanatory, but basically, I painted the frame of a thrift store photo frame with matte black paint. After falling in love with the red stripe fabric I used for our Christmas stockings, I wanted to get another color, so I ordered the tan with black stripes fabric.  I love the nubby, authentic look {Read More}

Big Blue Finds a Home – {my weekend getaway}

If you remember last year about this time, I brought home a huge antique shop counter, which I called, Big Blue.  Big Blue got a gray makeover during the summer, but I didn’t have anywhere to put it, because it wouldn’t even fit through the doors in my house, so it’s been in my garage ever since. I would love to someday own a brick and mortar shop, but not knowing if that would ever happen, I decided to list {Read More}

Sonday – {Trust in the Lord}

It’s been a good, but long day.  I’ll tell you all more about my road trip later, but right now, my husband and I are hunkered down in Indiana, on our way home from Michigan.  We had planned on being home tonight, but it started snowing fairly heavy and we still had quite a few hours of driving ahead of us, so we decided to just pull over and get a room and good night’s sleep, and hope the roads {Read More}
