Christmas Tree Garland & Gift Wrap Embellishment
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…in July! Like many of you, my family’s Christmas tree has a very eclectic look. We have ornaments I’ve bought the kids each year, we have ornaments that were given to us, and ornaments the kids have made. Each one is a memory of a Christmas past. As much as I love it, I’d really love to have a Christmas tree that has an all soft color palette, with lots of texture, {Read More}
Sidewalk Chalkboard from Wooden Folding Chairs
How to turn a wooden folding chair into a standing chalkboard. Today, I want to show you one of my favorite kinds of projects. I seek out broken things at yard sales, thrift stores, and auctions, because I get a real kick out of taking something broken and turning it into something usable again. You may recall that last fall I bought 35+ antique wooden folding chairs at an auction. I sold all of them that were still in good {Read More}
Pretty Painted Clipboard Photo and Ephemera Display
I’m a bit of a clipboard addict and love using old clipboards as displays for photos and other bits and pieces of ephemera. I really love it when I find one that has developed pretty darkened patina, as this one has. I don’t mess with those – I use them as they are. Occasionally though, you find a nice old clipboard at a thrift store or yard sale, but it’s been doodled on by a student. In cases like that, {Read More}
Repurposed Bread & Cake Pans
I’m always on the lookout for old metal baking tins and have found quite a few of them recently, so I created a few projects with them. I added 2 loaf pans and a coat hook to this antique lawn mower handle. I love these old handles. I’ve found several of them, and they usually have some kind of brand typography on them and the wood has been really pretty on all of them. The loaf pans had the perfect {Read More}

Whatever You Are {Be a Good One}
We had a little miscommunication at my house last night, resulting in some broken glass. You may recall, during the winter I brought home about 50 antique windows of all shapes and sizes. I turn some of them into signs (seen HERE, HERE, & HERE), but the majority I sell in my shop, and since it’s difficult to ship windows with glass in them, I generally remove the glass and ship the window frames. My youngest son is the designated glass {Read More}
