Some Bliss to Brighten Your Day…Guest Blogger Bliss Ranch

The last few weeks have been hectic, and this week is forecast to bring more craziness, so I’ve invited one of my favorite blogging gals to come share with you today.  If someone took a poll, asking to name the first blogger who comes to mind that makes me smile, right away Bliss @ Bliss Ranch would get my vote.  Not only is she ridiculously talented, but she’s really witty, and just a wonderful person as well.  As a semi-retired {Read More}

Sonday – {Where Is My Boy Tonight?} Antique Hymn Page Printable

This is a sad hymn and I’m sure it reflects the prayers many mothers have prayed down through the ages about their sons (and daughters).  It’s a prayer put to song, about a son who has wandered away from God, and may be headed down a dangerous path. On a brighter note, as you may recall, my oldest son has been away at basic training since the end of February, but he graduates on Thursday!  He still has more specific {Read More}

Plate to Pixel

When I get behind the lens of my camera, I’m like a toddler getting behind the wheel of a car.  The child pushes every button, switch and gear on the dashboard, with no idea of what those controls can do. Calling myself an amateur photographer would be a compliment, because I haven’t even achieved that level of photography skill yet.  I recently needed to take photos of my kitchen, and they had to be the best quality possible.  I spent 4 {Read More}

Using the Positive Space of a Stencil – Colonial Pharmacy Sign

I used a little different technique this week to create another sign, that I thought would be helpful to other people who are new to using a Silhouette machine. You may recall this Colonial Pharmacy coat rack/sign I created a few months ago.  It was made using Contact paper cut as a stencil with my Silhouette (the negative space). What was left on the paper backing is the positive space, that you need to use transfer tape to be able {Read More}

Antique Graphics Wednesday – 1911 Lumber Mill Advertisements

My apologies that I forgot to announce the Shabby Apple $50 gift card giveaway winner at the party yesterday.  The winner is Laurel @ Chipping with Charm.  Congratulations Laurel!  Leave me a comment, and I’ll respond via email to get you your prize. I bought a 1911 Rand McNally atlas and loved these 2 advertisements inside the front and back covers for a mill and lumber company in Chicago.  I think these would make unique framed artwork. Blessings, Angie You Can {Read More}

Knick of Time Tuesday #84

Welcome back to Knick of Time Tuesday! There are only a few rules to this party, and I hate deleting links, so please take note:  I had a terrible time picking features from last week’s party, because there were truly so many I loved, but here are just a few! Deb @ Lake Girl Paints, shows us how she painted these beautiful images on rustic wood.   Mimi’s Vintage Charm shared this gorgeous made over empire dresser. With a Grateful {Read More}

Relique Inspired – Shaving Brush on Stand

We’re finishing up the remodel of the restroom for the men in our home, and I plan to give it a bit of a old barber shop look.   Some time ago, I saw a set of 3 vintage shaving brushes on stands that Relique sells for $129.  I like the concept of the brush on a stand and I’ve had one antique shaving brush for several years, which I thought would make an appropriate addition to the bathroom.  I had {Read More}

Antique Ceiling Tiles Cabinet Doors

The curtains I made from on old canvas bag for under my kitchen sink were getting kind of grungy looking.  Too many wet, and dirty hands had pushed them aside to get into the cabinet. Rather than constantly needing to wash them, I decided I wanted to go back to a regular cabinet door, but I think I must have used the original cabinet doors on some other project, because we couldn’t find them.  Instead, my handy husband made me {Read More}

‘Til the Cows Come Home

Thank God I’m a country girl. I’m a die-hard John Denver fan, and a die-hard fan of living in the country. Each evening, this is the view that greats us from outside our front door. I enjoy watching their evening trek across the field, to eat up what’s left behind from when the corn was harvested in the fall. I have never seen anyone open the gate to let them through, or noticed when they cross back over into the {Read More}
