Black and White Farmhouse Kitchen Update

    I decided last week that we absolutely positively needed a new kitchen table. Not only did we need it, we needed it before Thanksgiving. My poor husband.  As soon as I said that, he knew any plans of relaxing over the weekend had just flown out the window. Let’s take a little walk down kitchen table memory lane, and you’ll see why he’s starting to hate the words “kitchen table.”

I’m going to test your literary knowledge today, okay? I’m going to quote a paragraph from a book, and you see if you can tell me what book it’s from. It’s a classic, so I think most of you will know it. Here we go …

Grocery List DIY Paper Wall Dispenser

I think my family is under the impression that I walk around with a grocery list and pen in my pocket at all times. They are wrong. If I had a dollar for every time someone tells me we need milk, or we’re almost out of toilet paper, or we need something it would never occur to me we need, like popcorn seasoning … I could afford to hire a personal shopper. 🙂

Paw Prints on Our Hearts | Saying Goodbye to Shiloh

A true friend leaves paw prints on your heart. We’ve known this day was coming for months, but it finally came time to put my oldest son’s beloved beagle Shiloh to sleep yesterday. Every pet owner has stories to tell about their beloved pets, so I hope you’ll indulge me while I share some of mine. I just need to talk about her today…

Election Day Talk of the Town | 5 Features to Make You Forget Politics!

Well, it’s Election Day (audible sigh)… I don’t know about you, but I’ll be so glad when this election is old news that no longer dominates the news and social media. I never, ever, ever talk politics on my blog, but I’ve got to say just one thing about it. Well…maybe two.

No, I’ve never chained myself to a tree to save it from {Read More}

I could happily just stand in front of it and stare at the front porch and gabled roof for days. Can you imagine hanging out in the living area surrounded by shiplap walls, or eating breakfast in the charming breakfast nook?  If you haven’t seen it, click here and you’ll see why I love it. My Five Favorite Farmhouse Style Sign Projects

After spending several days patching holes, repainting our kitchen (ceiling included), and hiding my jar of screws so I won’t be tempted to make new holes in the walls, I decided to reward myself for all my hard work by making a new sign for the kitchen. Some people reward themselves with chocolate, some buy new shoes. I make signs. It doesn’t make me gain weight or cost a lot of money. 🙂

November Kickoff | Talk of the Town #44

Happy November friends! My son and I spent the last two days repainting the kitchen.  We still have a little left to finish up, but I am so ready to sit down, kick my feet up, and enjoy some DIY projects, home decor ideas, and yummy things to eat and step away from the paint roller! Wanna join me?
