Introducing Knick of Time Vintage Sign Stencils!

Today is such an exciting day for me – it’s like a little dream come true.

Several years ago, I was busy creating signs on a bunch of old windows I had been given, and I mentioned that “someday” I’d love to develop my own line of vintage sign stencils.

Dreaming about something is all well and good, but there comes a point when you need to stop dreaming and just do it. After all, dreams rarely come true without a heaping dose of effort.

“Someday” has a way of turning into years, and while I’ve been creating vinyl stencils to use on my own projects all this time, I kept procrastinating about turning my designs into reusable stencils to sell.

But…I kept getting requests from customers who wanted to buy stencils to use on their own projects – not buy a ready-made sign. A few weeks ago, I told another customer that I don’t sell the stencil she wanted, and it occurred to me how ridiculous that was. After all, wasn’t that what I said I dreamed of doing?

I realized it was time to dust off the dream and get to work. I wish I had saved that gal’s email address, because her request was the kick in the behind I needed, and today I’m introducing the first design in my line of vintage sign stencils – “Goodfellow & Co”.

This design is a mix of my own imagination and an antique business card.

I had came up with the Goodfellow and Co. name for a sign in my bathroom, and I had previously used the “fine boots and shoes” image from an antique business card on another sign. I decided to combine the two together for this stencil design.

THIS STENCIL CAN BE PURCHASED HERE.

In addition to the vintage style designs, I’m also working on some inspirational stencils, similar to the Amazing Grace and  the Number Our Days signs.

Tomorrow I hope to take photos of the next stencil design I have finished, which I’ll show you later this week, and I have more designs coming soon.  I’m so excited to finally bring this dream to life!
