Turn a Drawer into a Farmhouse Cabinet

Thanks to all of your for your sympathy over the computer I drowned in the bathtub and the photos that were lost on it.  My husband was able to recover some photos, but some months are missing, and I’m still looking through them to see what photos are left that he was able to find  since he last backed up the hard drive.  I still feel pretty dumb for drowning it, but you all were such good sympathizers, I feel {Read More}

Keeping Time – the Last Days of Summer

Have you ever done something SO dumb, you hope no one ever finds out about it?  Well, I’m going to tell you the incredibly dumb thing I did last night, just so YOU feel better about anything dumb you could ever think of doing. Brace yourself, this is really dumb! So, you remember the pallet wood bathtub tub I made, right?  Well, I’m a total bathtub soaker, and I write my blog posts using my computer on that bathtub table, nearly every day. {Read More}

Repurposed Drafting Tool Photo Display

Remember when the world wide web was still a novelty, and the joke getting forwarded through email said something to the effect of “you’ve reached the end of the internet?” Truthfully, I sorta freaked out the first time I got one of those emails.  I was just started to grasp just how amazing the internet was, and discovering that I could search for absolutely anything, and I’d find something on the web about it. I remember being so relieved to {Read More}

Salvaging a Failed Project

I’m never happy when I botch up a project, but generally my projects are made with salvaged pieces that cost little to no money, so it’s not that big of a deal. When I botch up a project that I actually spend money on – that drives me nuts. I don’t usually share my failed projects, but today I’m going to, because I’m also going to show you how I saved it from getting thrown in the trash. I bought {Read More}

Old Tools Wall Hooks

I’ve only been to a handful of yard sales this year, but I hit a gold mine at the very first one I went to in the spring  It was my idea of a gold mine anyway! There was a whole table full of old tools and I bought every one of them – and a tool box as well.  The more worn out a tool is, the more likely I am to get it cheap, and the less likely {Read More}

Printable Summer Time Birds Image

It’s been awhile since I shared a free birds image printable, and this one rounds out the collection of bird images for each season.  It’s from the same 1920’s book as the previous bird images, and shows a male and female Rose-coloured Pastor (part of the starling family of birds) sitting on a branch with berries.  It has a lovely aged color tone. {CLICK ON IMAGE TO SAVE AND PRINT  FULL-SIZE} All 4 seasonal bird images would look so pretty grouped together {Read More}
