Good Pickin’s

I would loved to have filled my van on our trip to Springfield, MO, but 4 people & their luggage meant I had to somewhat limit myself. I tried to mainly purchase for my shop, but I did pick up a few things for myself. This old tape measure is my favorite find of the week.   I don’t know what I’ll do with it yet, but I’m sure I’ll think of something.  I also got this old barn pulley that we’ll {Read More}

Sonday – The Trip to Bountiful

On my top 10 list of favorite films is,“The Trip to Bountiful”.It’s a heartwarming film made in 1985, starring Geraldine Page, John Heard, Carlin Glynn and Rebecca De Mornay.  Geraldine Page won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance as Carrie Watts in this film. Set in the 40’s, it’s the story of an old woman in her twilight years, whose dream before she dies is to visit her old home place in Bountiful, Texas (a fictional place). I {Read More}

Huntin’ & Fishing’

No trip to Springfield, MO would be complete without visiting Bass Pro Shops. They have all my favorite things there, but they wouldn’t let me buy a single thing I wanted… old bottles old suitcases old jars old chippy corbels old cobblers tools old clocks old doors and old windows Oh  yeah….they carry fishing stuff too. :0) {source} I just wish they’d be less stingy about selling their displays. Little Spring Tool Tote

It’s our first spring in our new home, and I was thrilled to see how many spring bulbs are coming in that the former owner planted.  There are lots of daffodils and some bulbs that haven’t bloomed yet, so I’m not sure what they are.  I’ve only seen 1 hyacinth plant, but the plant is in an area where it can’t be noticed or appreciated much, so I decided to cut the stalk and bring it indoors where we could enjoy the blooms.  In {Read More}

Antique Graphics Wednesday – Compass & Caliper Images

It’s Wednesday, so that means it’s time for more antique images.  The 3 compass images come from an antique geography textbook. The caliper image comes from a 1925 dictionary.  These would be great for steampunk projects.  The complete dictionary is available at Knick of Time on Etsy, if you’d like to have a complete antique dictionary. For more antique graphics, click on the tab at the top of the page, labeled “Antique Graphics to Print”. If you use any of my images, I’d {Read More}
