Repurposed Book Projects: 10 Ways to Give New Life to Old Books
I took some time off from working on projects because my sister and niece were here visiting. My niece went with my daughter on a vacation to Colorado. They had so much fun. When they returned, my niece stayed at my house with my sister and we went camping at our favorite cabin in a state park. This was the only picture I remembered to take. Whoops!
Since I haven’t had time to work on projects, I thought I would reshare some of my favorite projects made out of repurposed books.
I know some people feel very strongly that you should never do anything to books, but I choose books that are in poor condition and either get them for free or at auctions when no one else bids on them. So no bad comments, please!
If you’ve followed my blog for a long time, some of these projects will be familiar to you. But if you’re new, I hope you like them.
Feel free to pin any projects below that you enjoy!
1. Repurposed Books Into Book Light – I’ve made many of these. Here are just a few.
2. Christmas Books Stocking Hanger – This was a really fun project to make using antique encyclopedias! Make sure to look at the “before” photos.
3. Fabric-Covered Books – This project was the result of a failed project!
4. Wood Scrap Wall Hook – I taught a “junk” art class at my church’s VBS and the kids made these out of scrap wood and old hymn book pages.
5. Repurposed Books Coat Hooks – This was another super fun project to make using old books!
6. Book Pages on Wooden Caddy – I made this to hold my business supplies and still use it.
9. Tin Can Wall Organizer with Dictionary Pages – This is another project that I use all the time. It holds my paint brushes and some tools and looks so pretty.
10. Book Page Wreath – I made and sold so many of these wreaths made out of antique German books that were given to me because they were in poor condition.
I hope you enjoyed seeing a few of my Repurposed Book Projects!
Vaya con Dios,
So many great projects, Angie! Very creative re-uses!
Just for a second you thought of us,lol! Exactly how it should be when you are having a good time, thanks. I love your ideas with books, much better than tossing them in the trash. Cute coat rack and wreath.
Thanks Linda! I love repurposing old books and need to think of more projects to use my stash.
Thanks Marlene! We did have fun.
Angie, your daughter looks so much like you! What a cutie!
I love all your recycled book projects. One of these days I am going to do one!
Glad you are getting to have fun with your sister and neice and your look-alike daughter, too!
That’s so funny Naomi. She was adopted! My daughter is the one rowing. The other one is my niece.
What cute projects Angie! I especially love the Christmas book stocking holder. What type transfer medium did you use on the book titles? Also, love the stockings. Did you make them?
I used Mod Podge Transfer medium Debra.
