Welcome back to Knick of Time Tuesday Today, I’ve invited Susan from Homeroad to to be my guest “picker”. On her blog, Susan picks awesome old things, and turns them into amazing new things, like these old tools that she turned into a wall display, and these rulers she turned into hanging chalkboards. Be sure to pay her a visit to see all her amazing repurposed creations! Let’s look at the features she choose from last week’s party! I love {Read More}
Come Join Me for an Inside Peek – It’s a Blog Tour!
Julia @ Vintage With Laces invited me to participate in a blog tour, where you get a peek inside the life of a blogger, to find out more about their creative process, and a little more about their life, so today you’ll learn some things about me you may not have known (or wanted to know), you’ll hear how I attack new projects, and you’ll see the ugliest room in my house! I’ve admired Julia’s work for so long. She turns bits {Read More}

Welcome back to Knick of Time Tuesday I hope your week is off to a great start, and you have some wonderful, vintaged-inspired things to share this week! Sorry the party is a little late getting started, but I lost track of time while looking at all the links from last week – there were some great ones! Roll Top Desk Makeover with Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint
If you are a furniture purist…this isn’t a post you’ll enjoy. I just thought I’d better warn you, because this old roll top desk got painted – with Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint. If you hate to see old furniture painted, you’ll probably hate what I did to it, and you may feel just a wee bit happy to hear about the difficult time I had painting it. It was like a comedy of errors – except it wasn’t funny. {Read More}
New Tiered Stands and What I Did {and did not} Do in Chicago
Yesterday, I went with two of my sons, for a whirlwind drive up to Chicago. The older son sells specialty cheese at a Farmer’s Market in our town, and he needed to pick up hundreds of pounds of cheese in Chicago. Between worrying about deer on the roads through the rural areas, and crazy drivers in Chicago, I didn’t want him to make the drive alone, so I packed up my computer and camera, thinking I’d get some work done {Read More}
Antique Nature Printable – Insects {Beetles}
Today’s nature printable is another insect one, showing various beetles. I don’t like beetles, but I do think their colors are often pretty and they are somewhat fascinating. It’s from the same 1903 encyclopedia as the moth image I shared yesterday. {CLICK ON IMAGE TO ENLARGE} If you missed the other nature printables I’ve previously shared, click these images to get the full-size versions: Have you used one of my antique images on a project you created? If so, {Read More}
Bee Image and Dictionary Definition
Here’s a pretty bee image, as well as the definition with the bee image. They are from an antique dictionary. The background has been removed from the bee, so it can be used digitally to layer over other images. The bee image is already at full size below, but the full size of the definition image is available here. Have you used one of my antique images on a project you created,? If so, please share! My new feature {Read More}
Industrial Home Decor Project Ideas
I didn’t miss cooking. I didn’t miss cleaning, and taking a break from writing blog posts did me good. But, the one thing I did miss while on vacation, was creating new projects. Making things just makes me happy, so going a week and a half without making something was a stretch for me. I did start working on a crochet project (which may or may not ever get finished, because I didn’t use a pattern and it’s turning out {Read More}
DIY Recycled Mason Jar Organizer
At this moment, I’m with my husband, 4 kids and 2 dogs, driving part way across the country. My rear end and back are rebelling against sitting in a car seat for so long, and I’m already suffering from crafting withdrawal, but I keep reminding myself that it will be worth it once we arrive. We’re going to visit grandmas, grandpas, aunts, uncles & cousins. In other words, we are taking a much-needed break, surrounded by people we love. {Read More}
