Old Wooden Doors, a Horse, and a “Dance”

Many married couples like to dance together, but my husband and I have a differeny type of “dance” we do…on a regular basis. During the winter, my husband and I went to an auction (and froze our rear ends off), and one of the things I won was a pair of super old wooden doors.  I had bought a lot more things at the auction, which filled up our Jeep, so we were going to have to make another trip {Read More}

Repurposed Lamps & Lights

The last several weeks, my husband and I have been working on lots of hanging lights and lamps, and I realized I haven’t shared them here, and I have quite a few to show you. This one is probably my favorite.  I’ve had this antique milk can strainer for quite some time, and I’m so glad to have finally done something with it.  The patina on it is absolute perfection. I love how the Edison bulb peeks out from the {Read More}

Antique Nature Printable – Mosses & Lichens

This is a beautiful, detailed book plate from an 1903 encyclopedia, showing various mosses and lichens.  It would make a lovely framed print, or used on a greeting card for a nature lover.  I was fortunate to get a good supply of volumes from this encyclopedia set, so I’ll be sharing a large variety of images from them in the future. {CLICK ON IMAGE TO ENLARGE} Blessings,

Nothing, Nada, Zip

I usually try to share a new project with you on Mondays, but I’ve got nothing today.  My youngest son spent a week with my two older sons at their college in Arkansas, so my husband and I went to pick him up and visit with visit with them.  If I was a really organized and structured blogger, I would have gotten a project ready ahead of time to share with you today, but by the time I finished making {Read More}

Garden Inspiration Printables

We have had some almost spring-like weather the last week, that gives me hope that winter truly is coming to an end.  Although I’m a pretty pitiful gardener, that doesn’t keep me from still wanting beautiful flowers in my yard, and planting a few new plants each year, hoping they survive, despite me. In the past, I’ve shared some really wonderful garden-related antique graphic printables, so I thought I would share the links to all those images again, in case {Read More}

Grain Sack Camp Folding Stool

Last weekend, I brought home a couple of little camping folding stools.  I did tons of camping growing up, and still love to do it as often as I can, so I have a soft spot for these little stools. It appeared that someone had already replaced the fabric once.  There weren’t any seams – the fabric was rough cut, folded over and stapled to the stool, with raw edges left exposed .  I realize it’s a camping chair, but {Read More}

Grain Sack Foot Stool

Can I just go ahead and declare this, “Grain Sack Month“?  That way, I don’t need to keep apologizing for bombarding you with grain sack-related projects.   I just can’t seem to help myself. Okay, now that I’ve warned you, I picked up this little foot stool at a thrift store a few weeks ago.  Clearly, it was way overdue for a makeover, but it was very sturdy and I since I have a LOT of the grain sack fabric {Read More}

Grain Sack Wall Pockets on Barn Wood

 I know that there are tons of fellow grain sack lovers out there, so I hope you won’t groan that I’m sharing another grain sack style project again today. After making a seat cover for an antique chair, I still had lots of fabric left over, and I was itching to come up with more projects to use it on. I whipped up these little pockets, and added the same typography that I used on the chair (printable here). I wasn’t {Read More}
