If you’re reading my blog today, my sincere hope is that when the “roll” is called by God, your name will be on it. Life is short and tomorrow isn’t guaranteed. If you aren’t a follower of Jesus, your Maker and Savior, please, don’t waste another day. At least investigate Jesus today. There isn’t anything more important you’ll do today. Don’t deny what you don’t know. I hope to hear your name when the roll is called…I’ll be there. Blessings, {Read More}
Grain Sack Camp Folding Stool
Last weekend, I brought home a couple of little camping folding stools. I did tons of camping growing up, and still love to do it as often as I can, so I have a soft spot for these little stools. It appeared that someone had already replaced the fabric once. There weren’t any seams – the fabric was rough cut, folded over and stapled to the stool, with raw edges left exposed . I realize it’s a camping chair, but {Read More}
How to Turn an Antique Piano into an Amazing Desk!
I know my husband probably wishes he could banish the words, “What do you think about …?” from my vocabulary, and I think his brain automatically translates them into, “She needs my help.” Generally, it’s an accurate translation. You may recall, several years ago, I was bemoaning the fact that everyone seemed to have a beautiful mantel that they were decorating for Christmas, and I didn’t. When I came across an antique piano at a thrift store, and they were {Read More}
Antique Graphics – Printable Milk Cap Images and Project Ideas
I don’t know about you, but I love antique milk caps. They are just one more example of how packaging was so much better in the old days, than it is today. They are fun to collect, but the images are also wonderful to use on crafts and projects. You can print them out, punch a hole in them and put a string through them to use as gift tags. You can turn them into iron-on transfers for flour {Read More}
Knick of Time Tuesday #126 – Vintage Inspiration Party
Welcome to Knick of Time Tuesday! Thanks for coming by to share your love of vintage style. Anything vintage-related is allowed, including items for sale, but please NO FOOD. Unfortunately, I don’t have any features to share with you tonight, and I’m really sorry. The service that hosts the images crashed, and while your links from last week’s party are all still there – none of the photos are, so unless I visit all 75+ links, I have no way {Read More}
Grain Sack Foot Stool
Can I just go ahead and declare this, “Grain Sack Month“? That way, I don’t need to keep apologizing for bombarding you with grain sack-related projects. I just can’t seem to help myself. Okay, now that I’ve warned you, I picked up this little foot stool at a thrift store a few weeks ago. Clearly, it was way overdue for a makeover, but it was very sturdy and I since I have a LOT of the grain sack fabric {Read More}
Grain Sack Wall Pockets on Barn Wood
I know that there are tons of fellow grain sack lovers out there, so I hope you won’t groan that I’m sharing another grain sack style project again today. After making a seat cover for an antique chair, I still had lots of fabric left over, and I was itching to come up with more projects to use it on. I whipped up these little pockets, and added the same typography that I used on the chair (printable here). I wasn’t {Read More}
Repurposed Antique Headboard into Coat Rack
If only I had more space… You have no idea how often those words cross my mind, and they definitely were on my mind today, as I was photographing this headboard-turned-coat rack to list in my shop. The details and shape are just gorgeous. I used Blue Minerals Chalk Paint Powder to make chalky paint, and distressed it just enough to highlight the details. I added 3 ornate coat hooks, although there is room to add 2 more, if {Read More}
