How to Make DIY Canvas Banners for Special Events Last month I had a special request from a customer for an alphabet stencil. The timing was perfect, because my niece also wanted me to make canvas banners for her wedding.
Antique Alphabet Printable – Ornate Font
I have another antique alphabet printable for you today. This one is a book plate from 1906, and has an ornate font, that reminds me of Roman columns with acanthus leaves. It would look wonderful as a framed print. Other antique alphabets can be found here, here, here, here, here, and here.

Antique Alphabet School Book Primer Pages
Today, I have some beautiful alphabet images from an 1800’s schoolbook, called, the “Tract Primer”. Antique flashcards are so popular right now, so these pages could be printed, cut apart, and framed as a flashcard. They would also be lovely as framed art in child’s room. The inside cover page has such a sweet image on it. I have many more images from antique school books HERE. {PIN this image now, & Print later!} Blessings, Angie View Verse {Read More}
Alphabet School Primer Page – Antique Graphics Wednesday
I’m not sure what it is about antique school primers, but I absolutely love them. The books for the youngest students, usually included an alphabet page showing cursive or script alphabets for handwriting practice, and those are my favorite pages. These two images both came from an 1898 primer. I think they would make adorable gift tags, or enlarged for printable instant art to frame, but tomorrow I’ll be sharing another project I think these images are perfect for. Enjoy! {Read More}
Antique Alphabet School Book Page Sign
I warned you a few days ago that I’m a slow learner, and all the troubles I had with my bakery sign didn’t teach me my lesson not to choose elaborate fonts to cut out on vinyl with my Silhouette machine. I truly expected this project to be a failure and probably be a total waste of time, but I felt compelled to try it anyway. Here’s why. I bought an adorable 1895 school primer. It is filled with some {Read More}
Antique Graphics Wednesday – Vintage Alphabet Flashcards
I purchased a few sets of school flashcards from the 1960’s at a flea market this summer, with cute illlustrations on each letter card. The only problem with buying sets of flashcards is that you only receive one of each letter, but having these images, you can print whatever letters you need to form words. Flashcards like these make great banners, as well as photo props, so I hope you enjoy them. I left a little bit of a black border around {Read More}
Antique Graphics Wednesday – Back to School {Alphabet Metal File Tabs}
Since it’s back to school time, I thought I’d share some great images featuring the alphabet. I bought these old metal tabs at an antique store. They previously were used inside of filing cabinets to separate files by letter. Here is the whole alphabet as individual letters. I think there are at least 101 things you could do with these, so I hope you do something fun with them! If you are wondering where #13 went, the letters on it {Read More}

I love letters and numbers and all the many styles of type, so today I’m sharing with you 3 sets of antique alphabet fonts that came from some of my Peterson’s magazines from the mid 1800’s and were included in the magazine for marking on fabric to stitch. I hope you’ll enjoy them too! If you use them on any projects, I’d love it if you would share a photo with me! This one is a gorgeous alphabet that was probably {Read More}
