Sew Inspired Salvage

I bought an antique sewing table months and months ago. The top was badly damaged, and one of the sides that held 3 wooden drawers was broken, but the machine was a gorgeous old Domestic and the cast iron base is beautiful. I finally decided it was time to work on it, so I took off the drawers on both sides and started painting what was left of the top and found another piece of salvaged wood to add to {Read More}

The Other Side of the Story

Months ago, I showed you the remodel of our entryway, from a room with dated, dark paneling, to a room with a whole new, but vintage look. But, only half of the room was remodeled because the wall on the other half of the room needed to remain open to the studs so my husband could work on the plumbing going on in the bathroom behind the wall. Well, that “ladies room” finally got finished, (seen HERE), so it was time to finish up the entryway. Again, more dictionary pages were added to the other walls, but I wanted {Read More}

{Primping in the Ladies’ Room}

 Several weeks ago, I gave you glimpses of the project I thought I would be showing you within a day or two. I should have known that was a stretch, but I’ve been chomping at the bit and I guess I hoped if I blogged about it, the project would be completed sooner. Well, it took longer than I’d hoped and I really wanted to be able to photograph the room with a wide-angle lens, but there comes a point {Read More}

Explore! Map Pages Banner

I’ve been working on more banners this week and loved these map pages that were at the back of old dictionary. Instead of spraypaint, this time I used a stencil sponge to dab the paint on. No chance of overspray onto the pages this way. Sometimes the paint went under the edge of the stencil a little, but I’m not going for a perfect look – or I’d just use a printer. It took a little longer, but I’m pleased with the results and {Read More}

Lovely Vintage Wedding

I’m incredibly exhausted and my feet are killing me, but I had to share a few photos from the vintage wedding that I provided the decor for. I was also in charge of the food buffet, so I wasn’t able to take any photos before people arrived and started eating, but here’s a few shots I was able to get. The surroundings were gorgeous. We got a brief rain, but thankfully it passed quickly. My husband could NOT understand why {Read More}
