Adirondack Chairs Makeover in Two Shades of Blue

A few years ago, I won a pair of Adirondack chairs at an auction, for the bargain price of $10 bucks for both. I couldn’t believe I got such a great deal on them.  They are super comfortable to sit on, and I love them, but we probably should have stored them in the garage during the winter.  The wood was bare, without any paint or sealer, so the elements were starting to take a toll on them, and I wanted to give them {Read More}

Consider the Wildflowers – Photography Printable with Bible verse

Happy Mother’s Day!! I picked up this pretty red enamelware coffee pot at an antique store last month, and went outside to pick some flowering weeds to put in it.  They may only be weeds, but I think they are just as pretty as flowers from a garden, and they are growing prolifically along my gravel road, so I can pick them to my heart’s content! It reminded me of the “consider the wildflowers” verse found in Luke 12:27 NIV {Read More}

C-clamps, Gears and an Antique Scale

Last weekend, I attended a baby shower hosted by my cousin, and while we were chatting before the shower started, her roommate commented to me that she had a box full of old cast iron things sitting outside for me.  I love it when people know what kinds of things float my boat (although I guess cast iron would sink it!), so I was thrilled.  My oldest son likes road trips (it was a 3-hour drive), so he came along as {Read More}

Farmhouse Friday #5 – Vintage Signs

If you are looking for a DIY project to work on this weekend,  I think you’ll find one to love at week’s Farmhouse Friday, because the theme is DIY vintage signs!   If you’ve ever looked at the prices of antique signs – they are usually outrageously expensive.  While I’d love to own one, it isn’t in my budget, so I create my own vintage style signs instead, and we’re going to look at some signs created by some other fabulous bloggers as well.  Let’s {Read More}

Hey Hallmark, I have a movie idea for you…

What does a camp stool and summer break have in common? Without peeking below, what would your answer be? I’d bet a plate full of S’mores that your answer is “camping”.           Am I right? Am I?

Vintage Inspiration Party #188 – White & Yellow Decor

Welcome back to the Vintage Inspiration Party! Printable Antique Milk Caps

When I went to Arkansas last week, there was only 1 antique store in the town where I visited, but I found some goodies to bring home, including quite a few antique milk caps.  This grouping all have green in them.  I’m working on a project right now with one of these images, and hope to get it finished to show you later in the week.  Wish me luck because I’m only about halfway through, and can’t tell how it will turn out {Read More}

repurposed Starbucks bottle … because it’s cute, right?

Am I the last person in the world to realize that Starbucks bottles look like old pint-sized milk bottles? Well, they kinda-sorta do, right? Okay, it might be a bit of a stretch, but if you have a good imagination, and some white paint, it could pass for a milk bottle right? Actually, that doesn’t really have anything much to do with my post today, but just play along, okay?

An Evening Prayer

Is this hymn familiar to any of you?  I’ve never heard it before, but I really like the words, particularly the first stanza.   Blessings,

DIY Farmhouse Kitchen Wall Art

A few days ago, I shared a wonderful vintage can label printable with a cow on it, and today I’m going to show you how I turned it into farmhouse kitchen wall art.  As with most of my projects, this one was super easy and took about 30 minutes to complete, but that included painting time, which you may not choose to do. Here are the supplies I used: copy of  can label (HERE) thrift store frame school glue paintbrush – at least {Read More}
