Knick of Time Tuesday #100

Welcome back to Knick of Time Tuesday!I can’t belive this is the 100th party for Knick of Time!!  Sorry to get the party started so late tonight.  We drove through the night last night taking out son to college and spent the day shopping for furnishings for the apartment my 2 older sons are sharing.  I’m too crazy tired to do any features this week, but I’ll be featuring some on my Facebook page throughout the week. Special Thanks to {Read More}

Antique Graphics Wednesday – 1895 School Primer Pages

As the kids are getting ready to head back to school and hit the books, I thought this was a good time to share some fantastic pages from an 1895 book called, “The Gospel Primer”, published by the International Tract Society. For 118 years old, this book is in wonderful condition. I love these pages that feature a letter of the alphabet and its corresponding image of a Bible person, place or thing and a Bible verse for each one. {Read More}

My Farm Country Kitchen in Cottages & Bungalows magazine

It’s funny how things turn out sometimes, isn’t it?  Way back in February, I entered the contest hosted by Whisperwood Cottage for a feature in Cottages and Bungalows magazine.  The theme of the contest was “before and after”.  You could enter a before and after project, or a before and after room.  I had both a project and a room, so I entered both categories.  The project I entered was my repurposed chair parts that I showed you here, and {Read More}

DIY Old-Fashioned Wooden Swing

Thank you all SO much for sweet comments you left about my wicker sofa makeover.  It was fun to attempt a project that was a challenge for me and now that I feel like I have a better idea what to do and not do, I wouldn’t be scared to try something similar again. After such a big project, I needed to work on something simpler that was quickly rewarding and this is it.  For the last few months, I’ve {Read More}

Bathroom Reveal

We now have one more room we can check off the list of finished spaces in our home!  Our new bathroom is specifically designed for the men in my family, so I decorated it with a barber shop theme.  I didn’t purchase any of the decor for the room.  I used things I already had and created a few projects as well. (BEFORE – taken before we moved in) My husband converted the one open room into 2 separate rooms {Read More}

My Boy – Senior Graduation Photos

I apologize in advance for this post.  If you are sick of seeing photos of my kids, I’m going to subject with more of them today.  My middle son is graduating from our homeschool, and being the thrifty mom that I am, I always take their senior photos.  I am not a portrait photographer at all (or any real photographer at all), but we both were really happy with some of the shots we got, and with so many pretty {Read More}

Homemade Chalk Style Paint Pie Safe

Last year we bought an old RV.  It needs some work to get it running well, but we hope to do a little traveling in it.  I’m also hoping to make it look pretty – as if I need another remodeling project. Inside the RV was this little pine cabinet.  It was cute, but bland.  It reminds me of a pie safe. I whipped up a batch of homemade chalk style paint.  I used turquoise on the outside and bright {Read More}

Painted Canvas – Chalkboard Style

I’ve been going back and forth between painting on glass and wood the last few weeks, and wanted to play around with some other surfaces, so I chose canvas this week. Remember The Milk and Cream Co. sign I painted on a window a few weeks ago?  It has a good home now, but there’s just something about the simple wording and uncluttered design that I really loved, so here’s the canvas version I just finished. I cut out a {Read More}
