On the Workbench and in the Shop: Quick and Easy DIY Signs

As usual, it’s been a busy week with lots of projects occupying my kitchen table. I worked on quite a few new signs while my mom was visiting.   First is a Pallet Sign.  It is 5½” x 7½”. For this sign, I chose the Happiness Blooms transfer.  It’s our smallest size.  Perfect for cards, photo frames, and small signs. Here’s how it looks.  I used just one of the flowers with the sentiment and added ribbon.  I totally love {Read More}

Pallet Wood Rustic Box Centerpieces with Farmhouse Style

Pallet Wood Rustic Box Centerpieces with Farmhouse Style Most of what I buy at thrift stores and yard sales is “junk” by most people’s standards.   I specifically look for broken things, metal, and wood that others don’t see value in, because those are the pieces I love to recreate with. So when I came across these handmade pallet wood boxes, I almost squealed!  I knew I would have so much fun with them. All 13 of them! Whoever made them {Read More}

Plant Stool Makeover

This post it’s about a poor unloved plant stool that my mother has.   Last year when I visited her it was sitting out on the back porch and I kept telling her it would be so cute if she painted it. When she saw my step stool makeover that was awaiting her when she came to visit, she asked me if I could do something with her unloved  plant stool. Fortunately, I had received a large shipment of transfers {Read More}

Thrift Store Shopping Thursday

These were my thrift store shopping finds once I got back from my trip to New Mexico. A woven wood picnic basket.  It’s in need of a makeover, so I have to decide what to do with it. A metal cake stand.  I’ll probably give it a makeover too. A handmade tin-punched sign.  I bought it for the frame.  Not sure what I’ll do with it yet, but I’ll think of something! My favorite find was 13 handmade pallet boxes. {Read More}

Confession time … I barely passed French in high school, but I think the language is beautiful. Bon Appétit seemed fitting words to do this cutting board makeover. Here’s the inspiration project from Chalk Couture.  So très chic! Cutting Board Makeover Supplies: I have included affiliate links for items used. Talk of the Town #174

Hey friends.  Happy Tuesday! After bringing home so many thrifting finds, I realized that I need to get busy and do something with them.   I have numerous project pieces and ideas, so my goal is to get cracking with my finds, not be a hoarder!

Thrifting Thursday

It’s Thursday and that means it’s time for thrifting! What’s even better than thrift store shopping? Getting stuff free! My mom gave me several things, so let’s start with those first. We have the same taste in farmhouse decor. She gave me an ironstone platter. She also gave me a vintage enamelware plate. My favorite was this farmhouse mini gate.  It’s just adorable.  I’m not sure what I’ll do with any of these yet, but I’ll find something! Next up {Read More}

Bee Hive Wall Shelf Upcycle Using Dollar Tree Items

Bee Hive Wall Shelf Hey, everyone!  I’m back with a new Dollar Tree project.  This time it’s a Dollar Tree modular wall shelf upcycle. Last month I bought this modular wall shelf from Dollar Tree.  I don’t know if they still have the, but I’m kicking myself that I didn’t buy more.  I’ll check next time I’m there because I would love to do an arrangement as shown on the insert, but I had an idea for the one I {Read More}
