If you are like me and aren’t a chalkboard artist, then the method I use may help you to do prettier lettering on your chalkboards. I know a lot of people just print their lettering on paper, chalk the back of the paper and trace it on the sign, then fill in the lines with chalk, but I like this method a little better because the background and letters don’t get as smudged as they can with the other method. {Read More}

Antique Silverware – {Fine Dining Sign}
Ever since I made my silver spoon wall art for my kitchen, I’ve been rebuilding my stockpile of tarnished old flatware so I could create more projects with them. I seem to find more spoons than knives and forks, so I have a lot of those. I love making these into wall art, because it’s such a simple project. I grabbed one of my old tongue and groove boards and sanded down some of the bumpy paint that was barely {Read More}
Grain Sack Bar Stool – Before and After
It was half-price day at our local thrift store, and my husband spotted this slat back stool and brought it home for me. I love this style of stool, but I didn’t love the vinyl seat cushion or the chrome foot rest bar, so a makeover was definitely in order. Thankfully, the cushion was still in good condition, so it was going to be a quick and easy project to recover it…or so I thought. I painted the base solid {Read More}
Direct From the Farm Sign (Silhouette Tutorial, Tips & Tricks)
It’s been at least a few weeks since I created a sign based on an old advertisement and I was looking through some of my antique graphics and found one I really wanted to turn into a sign. I’ll share the process to create it, so you can create your own, if you’d like. The image came from a 1949 telephone book, which I shared with you several years ago, HERE. Back then, I didn’t scan my graphics at a very {Read More}
Antique Graphics Wednesday – 1919 Fancy Business College Logo
I love this fancy image that came from a 1919 business college booklet, but the part that caught my attention is the “live teachers” part at the bottom of the image! What else would they have had in 1919? I’m pretty sure there were no online classes back then, so the only alternative would have been…dead teachers?! ;0) Anyway, I love the pretty typography and the frame around the words. I think this would make a pretty framed print in {Read More}

My Farm Country Kitchen in Cottages & Bungalows magazine
It’s funny how things turn out sometimes, isn’t it? Way back in February, I entered the contest hosted by Whisperwood Cottage for a feature in Cottages and Bungalows magazine. The theme of the contest was “before and after”. You could enter a before and after project, or a before and after room. I had both a project and a room, so I entered both categories. The project I entered was my repurposed chair parts that I showed you here, and {Read More}
Just As I Am Antique Hymn Page Printable
Just As I Am is one of the most beautiful Christian hymns ever written, and it was written about every single human who ever lived. I don’t usually get really “deep” into matters of faith on this blog, but this is really important and I hope each and every one of you will read the lyrics to this old hymn – it holds timeless truth for you…yes, you. If you have any doubt about whether you need a Savior, trying {Read More}
Farmhouse Stenciled Sign Fresh Milk, Butter and Eggs
It may be bright and sunny outdoors, but it was a gray kind of day in my workshop this week. When I get my paintbrush out, I try to work on lots of projects using the same color at the same time. I hate cleaning paintbrushes, so I want to get as much mileage out of it as I can before I clean it. I can also accomplish more faster by focusing on one color of paint at a time, {Read More}
