The curtains I made from on old canvas bag for under my kitchen sink were getting kind of grungy looking. Too many wet, and dirty hands had pushed them aside to get into the cabinet. Rather than constantly needing to wash them, I decided I wanted to go back to a regular cabinet door, but I think I must have used the original cabinet doors on some other project, because we couldn’t find them. Instead, my handy husband made me {Read More}
Antique Graphics Wednesday – 2 Cattle Images
I wish I could remember where I got this image, but I scanned it, labeled it as the year 1871, then forgot to share it with you. Anyway, I’m rather partial to old cow images, and think they make great art for transferring to fabric, for the kitchen or to put on pillows. I’ve removed the background, so you can layer this image over other images. I have a somewhat funny story about longhorn cattle with you. When we lived in New {Read More}
Printable Antique Butter Box
I picked up a beautifully aged antique butter box a few weeks ago and have created a printable of it, so you can make your own. I love finding things like this that were meant to be disposed of (and usually were). Generally, if you can find them, it’s because the were unused stock, left in an old business. My original box is extremely fragile and is missing one of the side flaps, so I did a little digital editing to fix it. Here’s the {Read More}
Antique Graphics Wednesday – Measuring Cup & Spoons
I love these 2 images of a metal measuring cup and spoons. I think they would make cute images on recipe cards or on flour sack towels. The individual images below have all had the backgrounds removed so they can be layered over other images, using programs like Photoshop or Picmonkey. The magazine these images came from was generously shared by Audrey @ Audrey @ Timeless Treasures. Blessings, Angie
Antique Milk Bottle Caps – Royalty Free Printables
I love old milk bottles and their printed caps have such a wholesome, yesteryear look, so I thought it would be fun to share a few I have with you. The nice thing about having the image of the real thing is that although milk caps are small, you can take the image and make it much larger, so there are a lot of projects you could use the images for. I like the red, white and blue colors on {Read More}
Farmhouse Kitchen Remodel – A Room with a View
I didn’t plan to show you my farmhouse kitchen remodel until Friday, because I had a lot of photos to go through before posting about it, but my mom is going on a camping trip today and she wasn’t too happy when she found out she wouldn’t get to see my kitchen until she got home late Sunday night. I stayed up until the wee hours this morning finishing this post for you, Mom – I hope you like it {Read More}
Farmhouse Sink
I know that apron front, farmhouse style kitchen sinks are all the rage, but there are 2 reasons we didn’t get one for our kitchen remodel. 1) I’m cheap…those aren’t. 2) I already have a farmhouse sink. In fact, I have 2 of them. Both of my sinks are porcelain over cast iron sinks. One came out of our old farmhouse in Missouri and is a single sink with one side drainboard. It’s sitting in our barn right now. The other {Read More}
Ironstone & Tarnished Silverware Displays
I told you last month about my super chippy, antique door that I took apart and have been creating things with the parts.I put some sealer on this panel from the door, hoping to preserve as much of the chippy paint that is left, then added hangers to the backs of some ironstone bowls and a platter to hang on it. I love the simple, farmhouse look of the old wood and crazed ironstone together. The piece above it is salvage {Read More}
Kitchen Sneak Peek
We’re still a week or two away from having our kitchen remodel completed, but I thought I’d give you a glimpse of one space I enjoyed “dressing up”. I’m still arranging and rearranging, so things are subject to change, but after 9 months of living in this house, it feels so good to finally start decorating in this room. I loved our open shelves in our previous home, so we installed them again in our new home. It gives the {Read More}
