I have a new link party, starting next Sunday, called Bible Buddies. Nothing fancy – the “purpose” of this party is just to encourage everyone in Bible reading.I personally need, and have always wanted, a Bible “buddy” – someone I’m accountable to about staying in God’s word and who I can share what I’ve read with. Just to link up your blog home page (if you have one), then leave a comment stating what Scriptures you read this week, or {Read More}

Quirky Candle Holder
Ask anyone who knows me personally, and they’ll tell you I have a few quirks. Quite a few quirks, in fact. So, it’s no big surprise that I like to make things that are a little on the strange side.Last week, I shared 6 projects made out of salvaged chair parts, but I still had quite a few parts left over from the arm chair I dismantled. I had the curved piece that formerly made the front of the chair seat. {Read More}
A Keepsake
I love and appreciate every gift I received for my birthday, because I know that each one came from people I love, who love me, and wanted to make my day special. Today, I want to show you a gift I received from my mother-in-law. Calling it a “gift” doesn’t do it justice…it was a labor of love. She’s made each of her grandchildren and her daughter a handmade quilt, with designs in the blocks that represent something they love. {Read More}
The Other Side of the Bed and a Tale of Woe
Normally, I like to share a “theme” for Thursday, of projects I worked on throughout the week, but I’m still finishing up a few of them, so I have another project I finished last week to show you instead. It has a bit of a tear-jerker story to go with it though, so have your tissues in hand. I don’t usually think of myself as a possession-crazed person, but I admit that even though I know you can’t take things {Read More}
Antique Graphics Wednesday – 1888 Mitten Image
Thanks so much for all the sweet birthday wishes! My family and I went out to eat at my favorite Mexican restaurant, where I got to wear the birthday sombrero and open my gifts. My kids gave me new driving gloves, a bit set for the cordless screwdriver I got for Christmas, a pretty plant and some bath goodies. My sister sent me a beautiful old apothecary bottle and my mother-in-law sent me THE most beautiful handmade embroidered-top quilt. I’ll {Read More}

Welcome back to Knick of Time Tuesday!The linky tool is fixed now, so come share with us.I’m really feeling the “knick of time”, as I turned 46 years old yesterday!I’ve got the creaking knees to show for it, but I thank God for every day he’s given me. Down at the Corner Store with Sweet Harvest Farms
I spend a lot of time in the bathroom. Okay, I know that’s a weird statement, but let me explain. I’m not a “relaxer” by nature. I multitask ALL THE TIME.So, when I feel a little need for some relaxation, I head for my bathtub.I’m able to relax while multitasking(most of my posts are written while I’m “relaxing”).I don’t pamper myself often, but one thing that makes my bath timespecial is handmade soap.I love the fresh scents, I love the {Read More}
It Is Well With My Soul – Farmhouse Photography and Hymn Printable
I know so many of you love the timeless old hymn, “It Is Well With My Soul” as much as I do, so I have several free printables to share with you. The first is a photo I took of an ironstone pitcher sitting on a well-used ladder. I added the words to the hymn title on the image. It Is Well With My Soul It is available as a free printable. Here’s another version, with a smaller ironstone pitcher. {Read More}
DIY Family Names Framed Print
DIY Family Names Framed Print This family names framed print makes a great Christmas or Mother’s Day gift and is so easy and inexpensive to make. I was inspired by some similar ones I saw on Pinterest, and wanted to come up with my own variation of it. I always feel a little bit justified for the time I spend on Pinterest, when I actually *make* something I pinned on one of my boards! To create this, you’ll need a frame, card stock paper, {Read More}
Thursday’s Theme – {Handles, Pans & Cans}
Little by little, the mountain of stuff in my workshop is becoming a more manageable molehill. I have cut way back on going to auctions and thrift stores, with the goal of doing something with all the stuff I already have to work with. Last week, my focus was on turning broken old chairs into useful things (HERE, if you missed it), this week I focused on finding new uses for old wooden handles and pans and cans. Recently, I {Read More}
