Antique Graphics Wednesday – At the Fireside Sheet Music

What could be better in cold weather, than coming inside and snuggling up at the fireside, with a steaming cup of hot cocoa? When we lived in New Mexico,  our home had 2 fireplaces that we loved, but sadly, our current home doesn’t have one…so I’ll just have to snuggle up on the couch and enjoy the Christmas tree lights instead.  Regardless, I love this page of old sheet music.  I’ve altered the color of this first image, because the {Read More}

Primitive Christmas Stockings & Evil Elves

I think we have evil elves living in our attic,  who are Christmas decoration thieves. Every year, our family somehow has the knack for losing Christmas decorations. Seriously, how do you lose Christmas decorations? I mean, I pack them all up at the same time, and logic would dictate that I put them all in the same place – it’s not like we live in a mansion. But it’s the same story every year – things are missing. This year we {Read More}

Pine Cone Projects You Can DIY

Pine Cone Projects The wonderful thing about Christmas decorating, is that you can create beauty using just natural elements provided by the good Lord. One of my favorite elements is pine cones, and you can usually find them free for the picking – if not in your own yard, then from a friend, or in a park.  I constantly pick up pine cones when on walks and have baskets of them all over, but I thought it would be nice {Read More}

Antique Graphics Wednesday – Christmas Silhouette

This pretty silhouette was part of an advertisement for fine fragrances by the Roger & Gallet Company.  I found it in a 1926 magazine. I think it would make pretty gift tags. Recently, I shared some chalkboard inspired gift tags and cards that I created and Megan @ Lilacs and Lavender created some really lovely versions of her own using my chalkboard background.  Be sure to see them all. Chalkboard Christmas Cards & Tags {printables}

I’ve been in chalkboard mode for the last few weeks, and decided to create some paper versions of them, in the form of Christmas cards and gift tags. I haven’t perfected these yet, but I do have 2 cards and a set of gift tags ready as printables.  The PDF file link is available below.  For the tags, I punched a hole in the top and added a white, adhesive reinforcement label. It looks very retro with that added. {click {Read More}

Antique Graphics Wednesday – 1923 Baker’s Chocolate and Cocoa Images

This image came from a 1923 chocolate recipe book, published by Walter Baker & Co. I sure would love to get my hands on one of the original cocoa tins – it’s a little work of art! They are perfect for a winter project, when we all want to sip lots of hot cocoa! Walter Baker and Company is the oldest producer of chocolate in the United States. The logo of the chocolate server (La Belle Chocolatière – the chocolate girl) seen {Read More}
