Back to School – Antique Calendar Graphics

Have your kids started back to school yet?  Most of the schools in my area are back in session, but I ease back into schoolwork slowly  with my son, working on just a few subjects until our homechool co-op resumes classes at the beginning of September.  I’ll be teaching a writing class for the high school kids in our group this year, so I’m gearing up for that class and hoping it goes well. I came across some graphics I’ve never shared before, {Read More}

Antique Flour Sack Printable Images

The small town where my son goes to college only has 1 antique store, but I always check it out when we’re there.  Most things are a bit pricey, but I keep my eye out for small, less expensive items, and I found one I loved.  It’s a very small antique flour sack.  It had a paper tag envelope still attached to it, which explains that the sack held just a sample amount of King’s Castle flour, and originally included recipes which could be {Read More}

Vintage Butter Box Printable

Putting together little vignettes in my home is one of my favorite things to do.  Usually these vignettes will be on a shelf, the top of my piano desk, or on a dresser.  I can quickly change them out for different seasons, or when I have a new piece to add to one of my collections.  One of the things I like to collect and display in vignettes is old grocery store product packages.  I especially love old egg cartons and {Read More}

Printable Summer Time Birds Image

It’s been awhile since I shared a free birds image printable, and this one rounds out the collection of bird images for each season.  It’s from the same 1920’s book as the previous bird images, and shows a male and female Rose-coloured Pastor (part of the starling family of birds) sitting on a branch with berries.  It has a lovely aged color tone. {CLICK ON IMAGE TO SAVE AND PRINT  FULL-SIZE} All 4 seasonal bird images would look so pretty grouped together {Read More}

Another Brick in the Wall

For the 4th of July, my family went to Hannibal, MO to watch the fireworks display.  The old downtown area is filled with very old buildings with beautiful brick walls, and I was glad I had my camera with me, because I decided to photograph six of them. The can be printed and used as photography backdrops, but also look really cool with quotes and word art on them. You could also use them as iron-on transfers for a pillow, like {Read More}

DIY Watercolor Pillow or Wall Art with Transfer Artist Paper

Some people can’t wait to try every new kind of technology that hits the market.      I am not one of those people. I avoid new technology like a toddler voids a nap, like a husband avoids to-do lists, like a teen avoids chores, like a…      …..well, you get the idea. I don’t like new technology. Once I learn to do something, I don’t want to learn it again every time a new version comes out, and in this day and age, {Read More}

Hello World and an Old White Barn

I have a lot of readers that don’t live in the United States, and I need to apologize to all of them! It wasn’t until a reader commented that she wished my stencils were available to non-US residents, that I realized that I had discriminated against you all, because all my stencil listings were only set up for US shipment.  It’s a great big world out there, and I want people to enjoy my stencils all over the map! (free {Read More}

Old Wooden Barn

I photographed this old wooden barn on the same road trip as the big big red barn that is my dream barn. I love the well-aged wood and peak roof on this one, and the setting is so pretty as well, with the field in front waiting to be planted. The image without my watermark is available as a free printable HERE. You’ll find all of my barn printables HERE.

Whenever we go on any kind of road trip, I keep my camera with me, and keep my eyes open for old barns to photograph. On our way to New Mexico, when I spotted the most amazing wood and brick barn I’ve ever seen.
