Book Page Canvas Wall Art

This week I’ve been focusing on expanding my “line”of book page canvas wall art signs.  It’s a stretch to call it a “line”, as I have two styles available right now, but I will be adding more next week, and plan to create additional styles, and may offer some printable versions as well. My newest one is this Amazing Grace canvas sign.  I used pages from a very old Bible, which are extremely fragile to work with, but their color {Read More}

Repurposed Baking Pans Tiered Stands ~ Numbered Versions

My husband and I created a few new tiered stands this week, but I wanted to do something different to these than usual, so I added some numbers on them. We did a 3-tier version using old pie pans and a 2-tier version using square baking pans. I love using these numbers on things, especially because they are from an 1800’s sewing pattern that I previously shared with you here.  I just opened the image with my Silhouette software and {Read More}

Antique Graphics Wednesday – French Document Printable

I have another French document printable to share with you today.  This one is from the early 1900’s and appears to be a check.  It has so many pretty elements on it – The “Paris” typography, the handwriting, the stamp in the corner, and the script font. (CLICK ON IMAGES TO ENLARGE) The reverse side has several signatures and rubber stamped images. I particularly like like this “Banque de France” stamp, and think it could make a great sign. I {Read More}

DIY Antique Doily Banner

I got a wonderful package in the mail last week.  My mother-in-law called me and said that she found some old doilies at an estate sale, but she wasn’t sure if I would like them or not, because they were a little discolored.  She said she washed them well, but the discoloration remained.  I exhaled (relieved), laughed, and told her I love discolored old doilies, so I was glad it didn’t wash out.  She likes some antiques, but isn’t a {Read More}

Old World Paint Finish on a Modern Mirror

Generally speaking, I have to like the things I bring home that I plan to sell in my shop, but once in awhile, I buy something that I look at later, and wonder what I was thinking.  Several months ago I found this mirror in a thrift store.  It was a dumb purchase, because I try to resist buying things that are breakable, since I have to ship them.  The other thing about this mirror, is the frame was shiny {Read More}

Repurposed Bed Frame Coat Rack, “It is Well” Wall Cubbies & New Items

I’m a sucker for spindles, so when I saw this bed foot board come up for bid at the auction, my bidding finger went up…over and over again.  Someone else wanted it as much as I did, but I kept bidding, far beyond what I normally would. I go to auctions to buy things for my shop, but I buy things I like, so in the event they don’t sell, I’m have something I would enjoy having in my home, {Read More}

A Quilt Inspired Wooden Chair and a Childhood Story

My family is full of gifted quilters.  I have one aunt that owned a wonderful quilt store for many years, and some day I’m going to coax her into letting me do a blog post about her many quilts (hint, hint, Aunt Lil).  I have another aunt that sews beautiful quilted handbags (well, she did before she became a full-time teacher).  My mother is a gifted seamstress, who has also sewn beautiful quilts. And then there’s me. Without constant supervision, {Read More}
