Welcome back to the 36th Knick of Time Tuesday – the party to celebrate Old Stuff (or stuff that looks old!). I’ve got a bunch of features this week, because I couldn’t juststop and 3 or 4 – there were so many I enjoyed.I want to give a SPECIAL WELCOME to the new party-goers who visitedlast week – there have been quite a few recently. I love meeting new people and “visiting” their homes and seeing their creativity. Here’s one new {Read More}
Happy Memorial Day
Thank you to those who are serving, or have served in our Armed Forces to preserve and protect the liberty we all so freely enjoy. God bless each and every one of you! Happy Memorial Day Angie Due to unethical websites stealing content, I can no longer provide a full RSS feed. I work too hard to produce original and inspiring content to have it stolen by others. Thank you for your understanding – I appreciate each one of you {Read More}
Worth the Effort
Do you ever wonder if all the time and effort you put into something is worth it? I’ve asked myself that on more than a few occasions. I spend a good deal of time each week scanning antique graphics to share with you all. Some of them have damage to their pages, so I spend quite a bit more time editing them to restore them to the appearance they would have had originally. My hope is that someone else {Read More}
Mom, you said that already
My kids frequently let me know that I repeat things I’ve already said. I’m sure that’s true, but I also know they only listen half the time, so what can I do but repeat everything? I’m telling you this to warn you that there is a good possibility I’m repeating myself to you today…but I’m not sure…so pretend you’re hearing it for the first time and humor me, okay? I am certain I’ve told you all about the wood and {Read More}
Chipping Away
There’s nothing quite like wood that has aged naturally, and if it’s old wood with chipping paint, so much the better. There are about a million and one things to do with old wood,so here’s some of my contributions to that number. You may not recognize the wood from thisCottage Coat Rack I made, but if you’ve been aroundmy blog long or are familiar with my Etsy shop,then you’ve seen it tons of times. For nearly 2 years, I’ve used this {Read More}
Get the Look – Relique Pendant Light
Today’s “Get the Look” project was an easy one simply because we already created it before I saw a similar something similar from Relique.com. Okay, when I say “we”, I mean that I told myhusband what I want and he did it. Here’s a retail version of my light. This one sells for $169 at Relique.com. I’m SO glad my husband is good at DIY, so I can get a Relique look on a Walmart budget. I’ve been purchasing several old {Read More}
A New Friend & a Washi Tape Winner
It always amazes me how the blogging world can connect people together who may never meet in “real” life, and it’s a special treat when you actually get to meet one of your blogging friends. If you’ll recall, the winner of the beautiful necklace from Ambivalent Relics a few weeks ago was Terry @ Forever Decorating. She lives about 15 minutes from me, so we were able to connect yesterday so I could give her prize to her and she {Read More}
Antique Graphics Wednesday – 1800’s Fashions and Charming Home
I love Wednesdays! I look forward to sharing more antique graphics, illustrations and photos with you. This week’s images are from the fashion pages of several mid-1800’s Peterson’s Magazines. Isn’t this woman in a headdress lovely? Here’s the original page it was on. Here’s the image again with 2 slightly different color tones. Every month, these Peterson’s magazines featured a children’s fashion page. Here are 2 different ones. Each month there was also a 2-page spread featuring Paris {Read More}

I’m So Impressed!
One of my followers, Ulla @ SisustEllen, who lives in Finland used several antique graphics from my 1800’s Peterson’s magazines to create the most beautiful soap dispensers. Appropriately, she selected all soap graphics – 2 advertisements for Pear’s Soap and 1 for La Belle Bouquet Soap. These cheap little soap dispensers now like like designer ones. Well done, Ulla!!! They are gorgeous! Ulla’s blog is beautiful as well, and she has so many lovely photos and projects she’s shared {Read More}
