Primitive Christmas Stockings & Evil Elves

I think we have evil elves living in our attic,  who are Christmas decoration thieves. Every year, our family somehow has the knack for losing Christmas decorations. Seriously, how do you lose Christmas decorations? I mean, I pack them all up at the same time, and logic would dictate that I put them all in the same place – it’s not like we live in a mansion. But it’s the same story every year – things are missing. This year we {Read More}

I Gotta Book

Back in September, I shared these book stacks that I’d put together for my shop.  All but one of them have sold, so it was “time to book” again. I really love putting book stacks together. I love finding books that look beautiful grouped together – and they are one of my favorite things to photograph. This is my favorite newest book stack. I had 3 red books in my book piles that were all missing their spine covers.  I {Read More}

Patriotic Repurposed Playing Cards Banners

Yes, I’m well aware it’s December and not July, and no, I have not done even an ounce of Christmas decorating yet.  So, why am I sharing this red, white and blue, 4th of July-looking photo with you? I bought a box full of old playing cards and the pretty reds and blues were begging to become a July 4th banners. I knew I’d forget I had the cards by the time July rolls around, so you gotta create while the {Read More}

Antique Graphics Wednesday – Christmas Silhouette

This pretty silhouette was part of an advertisement for fine fragrances by the Roger & Gallet Company.  I found it in a 1926 magazine. I think it would make pretty gift tags. Recently, I shared some chalkboard inspired gift tags and cards that I created and Megan @ Lilacs and Lavender created some really lovely versions of her own using my chalkboard background.  Be sure to see them all. Blessings, Angie You Can Often Find Me at These Parties: Knick of {Read More}

Chalkboard Christmas Cards & Tags {printables}

I’ve been in chalkboard mode for the last few weeks, and decided to create some paper versions of them, in the form of Christmas cards and gift tags. I haven’t perfected these yet, but I do have 2 cards and a set of gift tags ready as printables.  The PDF file link is available below.  For the tags, I punched a hole in the top and added a white, adhesive reinforcement label. It looks very retro with that added. {click {Read More}

Antique Graphics Wednesday – Clock Faces

I am a clock face junkie. I like sharing them here, so that’s my excuse for bringing home a ridiculous amount of them. The backgrounds have been removed from these images, so they can be layered over other images. Right-click, save and print the image below to print the clock on one letter-size sheet of paper. No, I didn’t scan this one crooked – that’s the angle this clock face is – don’t ask me why. More vintage clock face {Read More}

Thursday’s Theme {Canning Jars}

We all love old Ball canning jars, right? Actually, I love all old canning jars, regardless of the brand. Topped with a zinc lid, they are the picture of simple farmhouse charm. I hope you have a “Ball” seeing seeing some of my favorite ways to use and display them! {filled with dainty straw flowers} {beautiful honey comb} {rooting a coleus plant} {a long-time favorite use for many generations…a button jar} {storing dry foods – popcorn, sea salt & rice} {Read More}

Itty Bitty Banners

Last week, a customer purchased the old orange tool box that I showed you recently with the word “HOME” on the front of it, but she also wanted the word “AUTUMN” added.  I didn’t have a stencil to match that word,so the fonts would have been to different.  I suggested we go a different route instead and I created an itty bitty banner that she could hang from inside the lid, or any other little space she wanted. Using banners this small, you can create petite {Read More}

Create a Thanksgiving Banner with Printable Antique Bible Page

View Verse of the Day I’m still on a roll creating banners with old book pages and have a few more I plan to design soon, but I wanted to share the most recent one with you, and provide you with a printable so you can easily create your own, with whatever word(s) you want on it. I love the look of old book pages, so I choose antique Bible pages and used a stencil for both the “frame” and {Read More}

A Theme for Thursday – {banners}

I said last week that I planned to choose a theme that would somewhat dictate what projects I would work on, but the theme for the week just seemed to come unplanned. I showed you this spur-of-the-moment banner I made for my family photo shoot. And I had already made this bunting from some antique pages. Then, I had a request by a customer to create a word banner for a baby shower.   While batting around ideas with her, I found {Read More}
