{Get the Look} – Bud Vase Garland

Sweet and Petite are two perfect words to describe today’s “Get the Look” project. Quick and cheap would be two other fitting words, also. The inspiration for it came from 2 sets of bud vase garlands available from Terrain for $22 & 24 each. While their matching, clear glass bottles are very pretty, I prefer my mismatched, antique, chipped a little, bottles. I don’t pay more than $2, at the most, for antique bottles, so I knew I could make it for {Read More}

Sew Inspired Salvage

I bought an antique sewing table months and months ago. The top was badly damaged, and one of the sides that held 3 wooden drawers was broken, but the machine was a gorgeous old Domestic and the cast iron base is beautiful. I finally decided it was time to work on it, so I took off the drawers on both sides and started painting what was left of the top and found another piece of salvaged wood to add to {Read More}

Antique Graphics Wednesday – Antique Clock Faces & Hymns

 You may remember that last month I ordered these incredible old clock faces from an Etsy seller in Latvia. I love having some with foreign names on them. It occurred to me that some of you may want to use these faces in projects of your own, so here are some of the faces that came from small clocks. They look wonderful grouping together in a vintage vignette. Just right-click, save and print when you are ready to use them. {Read More}

Halloween Skeleton Images -1893 Gray’s Anatomy Illustrations

Today’s images come from a 1893 Gray’s Anatomy book that is filled with fascinating medical illustrations. These are wonderful to frame as unusual wall art, but would be great for altered art projects and Halloween skeleton images printables.   I’d love to hear about it if you create something fun with these! Blessings, Angie

{Vintage} Metal Stencils – My Restoration Hardware Knock-Off

Last month when I did a post called, “Think Big“, I showed you a terrific industrial-looking display of metal stencils from Restoration Hardware that I love. At $16 per letter, I didn’t love the price.  Getting the whole alphabet would have cost $416 + tax and shipping!  I don’t think so.{did anyone else notice that the the “K” appears to be upside down?} I spotted a set of paper stencils with a similar look at Staples for $3.99 -that’s more my {Read More}

{Primping in the Ladies’ Room}

 Several weeks ago, I gave you glimpses of the project I thought I would be showing you within a day or two. I should have known that was a stretch, but I’ve been chomping at the bit and I guess I hoped if I blogged about it, the project would be completed sooner. Well, it took longer than I’d hoped and I really wanted to be able to photograph the room with a wide-angle lens, but there comes a point {Read More}

Antique Graphics Wednesday – 1800’s Advertisements

 These advertisements all come from some mid to late 1800’s Peterson’s Magazines.  I got a stack of them at an auction early in the summer, and they are just priceless! On the off-chance there is an advertising exec. reading this post today, TAKE NOTE – I don’t care what you are selling, if your advertisements for products looked like these – I’d be your most faithful customer.  These kinds of ads could make hemorrhoid cream sound romantic! {CLICK ON IMAGES TO DOWNLOAD} If {Read More}

Antique Christmas Postcards

Today’s graphics come from some antique postcards from the early 1900’s. The postmark on one was dated 1916. These postcards make such lovely, nostalgic decor for mantles, wreaths or strung together as a banner. Enjoy!!! Christmas Blessings to You! Angie

A Cozy Sweater & Candlelight

If I had a fireplace mantle, I’d be lining the whole thing with these! A few months ago, I got a bunch of fishbowls, glasses and vases at an auction. All you auction-lovers out there, know how you can come home with oodles of things you didn’t want, but they came with something else you did want.  That was the case with these glass items.  It was finally time to do something with them. I’ve been wanting to make some {Read More}

Repurposed Tin Cans Organizers

 Go raid your recycling bin to create some of these super cheap, super wonderful super easy containers with tin cans! I stayed up til the wee hours of the morning making mine – I’m hooked! As I’ve mentioned before, I have a stash of sheet music and antique magazines from the 1800’s and their aged look means anything I put them on will be gorgeous, so I’m always looking for more things to cover. These were cans that held cooked chicken meat, but you could use {Read More}
