The Good Old-Fashioned Way
I don’t know about you all, but with the events of the last 24 hours in France, I just want to yell, “Stop the world, I want to get off!” I know the it’s probably naive the thing that the “old days” were any better than today, but I think most of us, myself included, crave old-fashioned values, and a whole lot less bad news. I came across this hymn from the early 1900’s called, “The Good Old-Fashioned Way”, and I just had {Read More}
My Weekend and a Thanksgiving Song Printable
Thanks to all of you who left sweet comments about my little toy sleigh (and fake “snow”! Two of my sons, and their girlfriends participated in a “Color Run” in Little Rock this weekend, so I drove down with my oldest son to watch them. It’s a long drive, but it was so nice to take the weekend off and just relax. I even resisted the urge to bring any kind of project with me to work on, so I would have no {Read More}
Never Say Never
Early last week, my oldest son came down with a cold. He and my youngest son seem to be magnets for every cold that goes around, but I can’t remember the last time I got sick. I even bragged a bit to my mom that I never get sick. Well, I’m eating my words now, because within 24 hours, I was sick too. Within the next couple of days, my son was better, but I was sneezing and coughing up {Read More}
Halloween Sheet Music
Sometimes life throws you a curveball, and this was a curveball kind of week. As I mentioned recently, my parents are here for a two-week visit, but they left for a few days to visit other extended family. When they returned back to my house last night, my dad tripped over one of our dogs and fell on the concrete right outside my door. I called for an ambulance and he was taken to the ER.
Family Reunion – Yay! or Yuk?
When’s the last time you attended a family reunion? Do you love going to them, or do you force yourself to go out of duty? My parents are here visiting, and when my mom told me there was a family reunion she wanted to attend, I’ll admit, I wasn’t at all excited. Many of the people I haven’t see since I was a child, so the prospect of saying, “I’m Carol’s daughter, or “Alfred was my grandfather didn’t excite me. {Read More}

Vintage Bread Bakery Advertisement
I’ve been cleaning like a mad woman for the last several days, in anticipation of m parents visit. I always worry about them making the long drive, but they arrived safely this afternoon, and it’s nice to finally sit down and just relax with them. I’m looking forward to the next two weeks, and have several projects I hope my mom will help me work on! This old bread bakery advertisement came from the same 1920’s high school yearbook as {Read More}
September Music Page Printable
A few days ago, I was waiting for my son to get done at an event at our local library, so I passed the time looking around in the used bookstore the library operates to get rid of books that no longer get checked out often. Hardback books were all marked down, so I quickly scanned the shelves for old ones, and found a school music book from the early 1900’s. When I opened the cover, the very first song {Read More}
Printable Vintage Shipping Tag & a Freebie for You!
A few weeks ago when I was shopping in an antique store, I found a bag full of unused, old stock vintage shipping tags. You’ll probably recognize the red checkerboard pattern on them, as being from the Purina company, and it was that design that made me snatch them up! Because the Purina company is still in existence (and I don’t want to get sued), I’ve added my watermark so it can’t be printed, but I wanted you to see {Read More}
