In this post: DIY Farmhouse Signs It’s been a few years since I’ve written “On the workbench” post. Since Christmas is long over, I needed to restock my Etsy shop. I also plan to start offering Chalk Couture local workshops, so I needed to make some sample projects.
Farmhouse Decor Sale
Tomorrow is the big day when my son get’s married! We have a few small things to get ready, then we’re heading over to the venue to set things up and have the rehearsal. It’s an informal and simple wedding, so everything should be low-key and easy.
Spring Cleaning Sale From My House to Yours
We don’t get enough traffic down our gravel road to have a yard sale, so I decided to have an online spring cleaning sale instead. If you’ve been following my blog for long, you know I make projects. I make lots and lots of projects. Some of them I keep; some I use for awhile, then want to switch them out for something new. Spring is a great time to make changes, so I’m moving things out and would like to {Read More}
New Farmhouse Kitchen Decor and Vintage Finds in the Shop
When I first started blogging, my main occupation was a “picker.” Back then, I attended at least one auction every week, and during the summer months I often went to several each week. It wasn’t uncommon for me to fill up the back of our pickup truck from just one auction with vintage pieces that I’d bring home to clean up and sell or salvaged junk that I’d repurpose into something new and sell through my online shop. My husband found an amazing deal, and bought several cases of them. We now have them stacked in our bedroom, and taking up space in our bathroom storage closet. Looking at all of them made me want to work on more farmhouse {Read More}
Romantic Homes Feature + More Sale Items
Today was one of those amazing mail days that don’t happen often, but the latest issue of Romantic Homes was in my mailbox, and I’ve got a feature in it! I wanted to hug the mailman, but that might have been a tad awkward, so I just acted cool and casual until he drove away. Then I danced all around my driveway. 🙂
Flea Market Finds
I got up bright and early last Saturday to hit the flea market with my husband, only to find my husband was already awake, but feeling lousy. We waited for awhile, but he still felt awful and went back to bed, but bless my oldest son’s heart – he went with me. I haven’t gone to a single flea market all summer, and I’d never been to this particular one, so I was pretty excited. He really wasn’t interested in {Read More}

Thanks so much to all of you who made suggestions of project ideas to use the antique flour sack image on yesterday – I knew you guys would think of some great ideas that I hadn’t thought of, and you did! I’m hoping now that are summer activities have ended, my husband and I (mostly my husband!) can get back to working on our bedroom remodel that’s been at a standstill for several months. In order to bet back to {Read More}
