Knick of Time Tuesday #84

Welcome back to Knick of Time Tuesday! There are only a few rules to this party, and I hate deleting links, so please take note:  I had a terrible time picking features from last week’s party, because there were truly so many I loved, but here are just a few! Deb @ Lake Girl Paints, shows us how she painted these beautiful images on rustic wood.   Mimi’s Vintage Charm shared this gorgeous made over empire dresser. With a Grateful {Read More}

Sonday – {Higher Ground} Antique Hymn Page Printable

I’ve always liked this old hymn, but it took on new meaning for my family, and especially our animals last week. Heavy rains brought flooding to our area.  We woke up on Thursday morning discover that the little creek behind our property had overflowed, flooding our pasture…where our 2 horses were. For our larger Quarter Horse, it wasn’t too bad, but for our little miniature horse (seen in the distance), it was up to her belly in some places.  Thankfully, {Read More}

SWEET LIFE & Coat Racks

Coat racks are a good seller in my shop, so I’ve been busy working on some new ones lately.  I don’t generally put words on them, but I had a song from the 70’s stuck in my head and decided it would make a perfect addition to a cottage style coat rack.  I’m loving this new pale mint color chalk paint I made and think I’ll probably be on a mint green binge for awhile.  Can you guess the artist {Read More}

Thursday’s Theme – {Sew Much for That}

I am really making progress working through all the accumulated “stuff” (a.k.a – junk), in my workshop.  Unless I really dislike something, and don’t have an ounce of inspiration to put into it, my goal is to fix up or recreate with everything in that room.  You can actually walk through the room without risking life and limb now, but there is still a lot left to work on. I decided to work on a few old sewing machine cases {Read More}

Antique Graphics Wednesday – Vintage Luggage Tags

I’m sick of the cold and am ready to pack my bags and head south until spring comes, but since that’s just a dream, instead I’ll share some vintage luggage tags with you today, so I can pretend I’m heading off to some warm, happy place. {CLICK ON IMAGES TO ENLARGE AND SAVE} I love the bright red logo on this Railway Express Agency tag. I removed the images from the tag on this one. This is the back side of {Read More}

Antique Graphics Wednesday – 1900’s Pocket Watch Advertisement

I love all antique graphics, but  some of my favorites to share with you are images of antique clocks and watches.  With the passage of time from 2012, to 2013, it seemed like a great time to share this great image from a 1908 magazine called, “The American Woman”.  I shared the cover of this magazine with you HERE. Click on Images to Enlarge This is the full page the advertisement was on.  Not only are the ads fascinating, and somewhat amusing in their {Read More}

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas, one and all! May God bless you and your family richly. I’d like to share one more antique graphic for Christmas with you all. This cover illustration is from a 1908 magazine called, “The American Woman”. It shows a mother reading the Christmas story from the Bible to her little girl. The banner behind the image has a portion of a Bible passage on it.  This page is a little tattered, but given it is104 years old, it’s {Read More}

Angie, Get Your Gun!

I love old wood. I especially like unusual old wood. When I’m at an auction, I’m always on the lookout for really old wood, preferably on things that are broken or missing parts, because those are often the things other people don’t want. When I spotted this old wooden shotgun stock, that appears someone intended to make a gun with, I couldn’t pass it up. I wasn’t sure what I would do with it, I just know my bidding finger {Read More}

British Bling…Spot On

Ahhh…The British.They have the best accent and thefunnest expressions, don’t they? My daughter is a fan of all things British,so I thought I’d give her a little British bling for Christmas.Nothing super blingish, because she’s isn’t that type,just a few fun things I think she’ll enjoy. She is in need of a new pillowcase,so I typed the definition of England froma dictionary and added “coolest accents in the world”,because their accent definitely defines them. I also purchased a t-shirt for her {Read More}

Thursday’s Theme {Signs}

I’m still in the process of working on this week’s theme, so I don’t have it ready to share yet, but in the meantime, I’ll show you a roundup of signs I’ve created. I’m also working on a new batch of coat racks – still trying to make a bigger dent in my wood pile. Some of these signs, I know I’ve shared with you before; some I haven’t….I think. Seriously, there are days I can’t remember if I actually wrote {Read More}
