Gathering Wildflowers, Weeds and Purple Clover

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads and grandfathers out there! I went out to photograph a barn the other day, and spotted a patch of purple clover growing by the side of the road. I was instantly transported back to my childhood in the summertime… climbing trees, barefoot for most of the day, our dog following me around,      and nothing more important to do than to sit and suck the sweetness from the clover blossoms.  I’m concerned {Read More}

How to Make a Farmhouse Milk Can Patio Table

If you recall, a few weeks ago I was contemplating what to do with this old milk can that’s been sitting on my front patio. I thought about painting the whole thing, but it’s pretty rusty and I it has just a bit of old blue paint on it that I really loved and hated to cover up. Then I thought about just using the Milk and Cream stencil to paint just a sign on the front.  I think it would have {Read More}

Antique Window Framed Flag Display

There is a big blank space on one side of our barn where I plan to make and hang another barn quilt, but when I found a retired flag at a thrift store, I decided to make a flag display to hang there during the summer months.  I still have quite a few antique windows in my stash, and I found one that was the perfect size for the flag. I love how the colors in the flag coordinate so well with the {Read More}

Hello World and an Old White Barn

I have a lot of readers that don’t live in the United States, and I need to apologize to all of them! It wasn’t until a reader commented that she wished my stencils were available to non-US residents, that I realized that I had discriminated against you all, because all my stencil listings were only set up for US shipment.  It’s a great big world out there, and I want people to enjoy my stencils all over the map!
