An Identity Crisis and more Tiered Stands

You’ve all seen my tiered stands before, so rather than talk too much about my latest batch, I want to address an issue you might be wondering about – am I going nuts? To clarify, if you are a regular reader of my blog, I’m sure you noticed that just about every time you visit, something looks different, and it looks like I’m having an identity crisis.  I’ll spare you the longggg story, but did want to explain what I’m doing, and ask {Read More}

DIY Antique Postcards Magnets

I hate to admit it, but the photos you see of my home are not the reality.  I spend days cleaning up and primping to shoot room reveal photos, and those cleaned up spaces very quickly revert back to their normal, incredibly messy state in less time than it took me to clean them up, so I’ve been cracking the whip, making the whole family help me clean up our messes. When I was cleaning in the kitchen last week, I {Read More}

A Lace Stenciled Chair, a Little Village & an Old Man with His Dog

Wanting to find a pretty backdrop to photography my latest furniture makeover project, I found the perfect spot! After all, what spot could be better than an an old village, with an old building, with old doors? As if that wasn’t enough, there was also an old church, and even an old man with his old dog! It was the perfect kind of day, for a person like me, who loves old things (including old people with old dogs)!

Repurposed Book into a Wall Hook

I was digging through my stash in my workshop, and came across a book about birds, with a pretty cover, patterned with bird feathers. I’m not even sure where I got it, but I remembered that I had a bird wall hook in my stash too, and they seemed to belong together.

Tiered Stand Serving Center

Did you think you’d seen the last of tiered stands from me?  Well, I hope not, because in the past, I’ve always shown my tiered stands as more of a decorative item, but with my most recent tiered stand, I wanted to show it as a decorative, but very useful piece to have. I picked up a set of vintage cake pans at an auction. I had no intention of baking cakes. What!

Futon Frame turned Chalkboard Shelf

This chalkboard shelf was another one of those, “it almost ended up in a landfill” projects.  My daughter had a metal futon bed, which she loved, but somehow, the bottom of the frame got bent, and the bent part was miserably uncomfortable on her back.  We had another futon in the back room that my son used over the summer, but since he went back to college, my husband took her futon out, and replaced it with the other one.  He {Read More}

Rustic Burlap Banner Printables & a Horse Buggy Shaft

I had planned to share another another Photography Friday today, but it’s been rainy and overcast the last several days, so I’ll wait until the weather clears up, and I can shoot photos outdoors.  I do have another project to share with you though. My son asked me why I had printed burlap fabric images on paper.  If you wondered why in the world I shared burlap, cork and cardboard texture printables a few days ago, here are my 3 best {Read More}
