Book Page Wreath

We went to our sons’ basketball tournament last week and had a 5 hour drive each way and a lot of hotel time throughout the week, so I knew I needed to take along a project to work on, or I’d go stir-crazy.  I couldn’t tote along my Silhouette or wood boards, so I looked around for something that would be easily portable, and decided a book page project made the most sense, so I decided to make a book {Read More}

Antique Christmas Tree Printable Image

I just stumbled upon this adorable image from the remnants of an early 1900’s reader. I love the inclusion of the American flag as ornaments and as the tree topper. Here’s the image with the background removed,  so it can be layered over other images. Antique Graphics Wednesday – At the Fireside Sheet Music

What could be better in cold weather, than coming inside and snuggling up at the fireside, with a steaming cup of hot cocoa? When we lived in New Mexico,  our home had 2 fireplaces that we loved, but sadly, our current home doesn’t have one…so I’ll just have to snuggle up on the couch and enjoy the Christmas tree lights instead.  Regardless, I love this page of old sheet music.  I’ve altered the color of this first image, because the {Read More}

Primitive Christmas Stockings & Evil Elves

I think we have evil elves living in our attic,  who are Christmas decoration thieves. Every year, our family somehow has the knack for losing Christmas decorations. Seriously, how do you lose Christmas decorations? I mean, I pack them all up at the same time, and logic would dictate that I put them all in the same place – it’s not like we live in a mansion. But it’s the same story every year – things are missing. This year we {Read More}

Patriotic Repurposed Playing Cards Banners

Yes, I’m well aware it’s December and not July, and no, I have not done even an ounce of Christmas decorating yet.  So, why am I sharing this red, white and blue, 4th of July-looking photo with you? I bought a box full of old playing cards and the pretty reds and blues were begging to become a July 4th banners. I knew I’d forget I had the cards by the time July rolls around, so you gotta create while the {Read More}

Antique Graphics Wednesday – Christmas Silhouette

This pretty silhouette was part of an advertisement for fine fragrances by the Roger & Gallet Company.  I found it in a 1926 magazine. I think it would make pretty gift tags. Recently, I shared some chalkboard inspired gift tags and cards that I created and Megan @ Lilacs and Lavender created some really lovely versions of her own using my chalkboard background.  Be sure to see them all. Chalkboard Christmas Cards & Tags {printables}

I’ve been in chalkboard mode for the last few weeks, and decided to create some paper versions of them, in the form of Christmas cards and gift tags. I haven’t perfected these yet, but I do have 2 cards and a set of gift tags ready as printables.  The PDF file link is available below.  For the tags, I punched a hole in the top and added a white, adhesive reinforcement label. It looks very retro with that added. {click {Read More}
