Milk and Cream Co. Sign on Stool and Chalkboard

It’s been more than 2 years ago since I made my first Milk and Cream Co. sign. Since I only had 1 antique window like that, I started making them on glass photo frames. And they sold, and they sold, and they sold, and to date I’ve made almost 50 more of them! Finally I realized that since other people love the design as much as I do, it was time to make make it available as a reusable stencil so anyone {Read More}

Outdoor Spaces Welcome Home Summer Tour

Welcome to my Outdoor Spaces tour! Do you remember that blog post when I took you room by room through my whole house, showing you ever nook and cranny, every organized closet, and all the beautifully decorated spaces in our home?     Yeah…me neither. That’s because that blog post doesn’t exist, except in my imagination. There’s a possibility it never will, because my whole house isn’t finished and even if it was      I could probably never get every room {Read More}

Because I Can

I’m smack dab in the middle of raising my 4th teenager now, and there’s a standard answer he gives me when I ask why he did something. “Because I can.” Well, I’m stealing his answer today, because my tin can stash is overflowing again, so it was time to repurpose some of them, and turn them into summmerish decor. I printed a few of my vintage can labels (links to printables below) to add to the cans.  You’ll notice that these {Read More}

This week’s theme is kitchen tools, which are one of the least expensive and easy to find things to repurpose and display for farmhouse decor. Join us in our heartfelt mission to light the world. DIY Barn Quilt

It isn’t a big secret that I love old barns, but have I ever told you about MY barn? Well, it’s a great big old red barn, with a white door, and a hayloft on top. There are horses in their stalls, and chickens in a coop, and we gather fresh eggs from them every day. On the outside, hollyhocks and sunflowers are growing, and the old water spigot never stops dripping. Hanging on the side of my barn is a big, beautiful barn quilt.

Hey Hallmark, I have a movie idea for you…

What does a camp stool and summer break have in common? Without peeking below, what would your answer be? I’d bet a plate full of S’mores that your answer is “camping”.           Am I right? Am I?

Gingham Tray Magnet Board

I’ve been having a very lazy and relaxing weekend away from home, but wanted to show you a super quick project I did before I left.  I picked up this vintage metal tray at a thrift store recently.  I couldn’t resist the gingham print on it.  It’s a little bit worn and rusty, but I think it’s cheerful and charming.  I used E6000 glue to attach D-ring hangers on the back, and tied a red ribbon around those to hang it by. {Read More}

a 2 year old and a wire basket

I was standing there in the antique mall, having one of those raging inner battles. You have those too, right? You know, one of those battles when the sensible side of you says,  Do you really need that? (as if “need” has anything to do with it) And the thrifty side of you says, Wait until you find one at a yard sale, you’ll pay less. (who invited Cheapo to go antiquing with us??) And the organized side of you says, Where in {Read More}

DIY Framed Vintage Seed Bag

Do you remember that big blank space I had over my antique kitchen stove… that space I filled with a rustic framed chalkboard?  Well, I did it again – I sold the chalkboard and ended up with a big blank space once again.  It wasn’t any big deal though, and I planned to make another one of those chalkboards, but then I found this old feed bag that I’ve had for several years.  Instead of making a frame for a chalkboard, I {Read More}
