Autumn Morning on a Farm Country Road

The last several days, it’s been very foggy in the morning, but burns off late morning.  A few days ago, I was getting in my car, and noticed how beautiful it looked, with the fall colors, and had to grab my camera to capture it.   The view down our gravel road was ghostly beautiful, and  my oldest son said it looked like the Headless Horseman should come galloping down it. My old-fashioned wooden swing looked a little lonesome, yet charming. The {Read More}

Free Printable Vintage Postcard – Pretty!

It’s been awhile since I shared a vintage postcard, but I found this one at an antique store when I was on vacation in New Mexico, and really like the pretty scrolled font.  I think it would be fun to create a Christmas card with it, adding a family photo to the front.  It would also make a wonderful graphic for a blog. {CLICK ON IMAGES TO ENLARGE}  This image is a JPEG.  Click here for the PNG version of {Read More}

Tiered Stand Serving Center

Did you think you’d seen the last of tiered stands from me?  Well, I hope not, because in the past, I’ve always shown my tiered stands as more of a decorative item, but with my most recent tiered stand, I wanted to show it as a decorative, but very useful piece to have. I picked up a set of vintage cake pans at an auction. I had no intention of baking cakes. What!

Blogging as a Business – Dream Job or Pipe Dream?

I’ve been a stay-at-home mom for 24 years, and a homeschooling mom for 18 years, so any income I earn HAS to be home-based, since I still have 1 child that hasn’t yet graduated, and since I have no desire to be employed outside the home anyway.  It’s been exciting to see that my options aren’t limited to doing home childcare, or stuffing envelopes, in order to earn an income from home.  I actually did do childcare for quite a few {Read More}

A Mop Wringer, a Baby Cradle, and other Vintage Finds

 There are some vintage finds I bring home that I know exactly what I’ll do with, and others that have me completely stumped.  I’ve had this old mop bucket ringer so long, I can’t even remember where I got it, and it’s practically become a fixture in my workshop.  I’ve gotten so used to seeing it in there, I almost stopped noticing I even had it.  Then a few days ago, I went out to get a piece of wood from {Read More}

Antique Business Letterhead Printable

Here’s a really wonderful image from an antique business document from the late 1800’s.   It was the top of a letterhead.  It would make a really nice antique-style sign or image transfer. I cleaned it up, did a little editing, and cropped just the top of the letterhead.  The original letter was actually written in response to a complaint from a customer about a chandelier they had purchased. Many more antique documents and free vintage images are here.

Visiting the Land of Enchantment

As much as I love traveling and visiting family, it’s always so nice to get back home.  You may recall my parents came to visit, and I decided to ride back with them to New Mexico, specifically so my youngest son could experience the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta.  He was only 5 years old, when we moved from New Mexico to Missouri (and later to Illinois), so I knew he had no recollection of this incredible yearly event.  If you {Read More}

Antique Alphabet Wall Art and Cutting Edge Stencils Giveaway Winner

 Before I talk about the project I am sharing today, I need to make a huge apology.  Almost a month ago, I hosted a giveaway for Cutting Edge Stencils, and I completely forgot to announce a winner.  I’m so sorry!  The giveaway was open for 1 week, and I had a lot on my mind while I was preparing for my parents visit, and it just totally slipped my mind.  The winner is announced at the bottom of this post. {Read More}
