When my oldest son graduated from our homeschool over 4 years ago, I started having thoughts about what I would do when my remaining 3 children graduated as well. I’ve been a homeschool mom since 1996, and it’s been my “job” all those years, and I worried about what I could do once I no longer had that purpose. I decided to start my Etsy shop, as a way to supplement our family’s income, then a year later, I began blogging. {Read More}
Abandoned Cabin – Photography Print
I’m still on vacation, enjoying time with my family, but last weekend, when my parents were visiting us in Illinois, we attended an apple festival in a small town not too far from our home. We only stayed about an hour, because although it was a beautiful day, it was chilly and breezy. On the way home, we drove the back roads, rather than taking the highway. I love this stretch of road, because it is dotted with pretty old farmhouses {Read More}
Photography Friday – How Shutter Speed Affects Your Photos
I wasn’t sure if I would be have a chance to practice my photography lessons while on vacation this week, but while my mom, sister, niece and I were returning from a trip into Albuquerque, the perfect opportunity came up, because I needed a moving object to photograph. We passed a moving train, and my sister got far enough ahead of it, that we were able to pull over to the side of the road, so I could get set {Read More}
Futon Frame turned Chalkboard Shelf
This chalkboard shelf was another one of those, “it almost ended up in a landfill” projects. My daughter had a metal futon bed, which she loved, but somehow, the bottom of the frame got bent, and the bent part was miserably uncomfortable on her back. We had another futon in the back room that my son used over the summer, but since he went back to college, my husband took her futon out, and replaced it with the other one. He {Read More}

Tin Cans and Texas Sky
How many empty tin cans can a person save, before they are considered a hoarder? Whatever that number is, I think I’m getting dangerously close to reaching it. When there are more empty cans on the shelves in the pantry than full ones, that should be a red flag that I have a tin can obsession. I’ve been stockpiling empty tin cans for months now, knowing I wanted to make another tin can wall organizer, like the one I made to hold {Read More}

Antique Hymn Book Page – All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name
This was the first hymn in an antique hymn from my collection, and it’s a classic. The paper has very pretty aging, and it’s just a lovely image. {CLICK ON IMAGE TO ENLARGE, SAVE AND PRINT}
French Graphic – Antique Invoice
Here’s another French Graphic. This one is an antique invoice, from a tack shop, from the 1920’s. It would make a wonderful background, or part of a collage. More French printables are here, here, here, here, here, & here. I’m enjoying the last few days of my parent’s visit with us, and am hoping the rainy weather clears up, so we can enjoy some time outdoors this weekend. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
