Farewell 2013 – HELLO 2014! Vintage Clock Face Printable

2013 was a wonderful and memorable year for me, and I’m eagerly looking forward to what 2014 has in store. Today’s printable image is a vintage clock face.  It’s a PNG image, so you can layer it digitally over other images.  This isn’t an image that can be enlarged, or the numbers will become pixelated.   The original face is attached to a rounded piece of galvanized metal, so I couldn’t lay it flat on my scanner to get a {Read More}

DIY Canvas Bucket Bag in Homebound Magazine and a WINNER!

Late in the summer, Heather Anderson, publisher of Homebound Magazine (and Post Road Vintage), contacted me and asked if I’d like to come up with a project to share in the winter edition of Homebound Magazine.  I was happy to do so, but I had to wrap my mind around creating a winter project when the temperatures were still in the 80’s.I rummaged around in my workshop to see if my stockpile of “stuff” would yield some inspiration, and I {Read More}

Vintage Style White Christmas Tree

Vintage Style White Christmas Tree Never in my life have I decorated a Christmas tree by myself, and I didn’t expect to start now.  I thought we’d decorate our tree when my two older sons came home from college for Christmas break, until I realized that because of work, they wouldn’t be coming home until the week of Christmas. I like to have a tree up for at least several weeks before Christmas to enjoy, so I decided to decorate {Read More}

1900’s Family Christmas Scene Illustration

Here’s a beautiful illustration from an early 1900’s German book, depicting a family celebrating Christmas.  I especially love the old-fashioned toys under the tree, although all those lit candles look extremely dangerous!  Let me know if you find some pretty use for this lovely image. Blessings, Angie

Christmas Signs on Repurposed Things

I guess I’m a poor planner, because it never occurs to me to work on Christmas projects a few months in advance, so I have them ready to list in my shop BEFORE the holiday season starts, but every year, around late November, I realize I haven’t created anything for the Christmas season to sell.  This year was no exception, so I’ve only created a few signs, and I’m not sure I’ll make any more, since most people have already {Read More}

Advertisement Christmas Ornament: 1800’s FAO Schwarz Bell

This antique Christmas advertisement was from F.A.O. Schwarz and was intended to be cut out and used as a Christmas ornament.  It came from an 1880’s Harper’s magazine. {Right click  on image to save and print} F.A.O. Schwarz is the oldest toy store in the United States, which was founded in 1862, by German immigrant Frederick August Otto Schwarz.  Originally, it was called, “Toy Bazaar”, in its first store in Baltimore, and according to information I found on the internet, the year {Read More}

Easy Christmas Crafts

I’m thrilled with all of the holiday projects that were shared at last week’s party!  I’m featuring 4 of my favorite easy Christmas crafts that all include tutorials, and were all repurposed from other items. I absolutely love this Christmas wall art that Tanya @ Twelve O Eight made out of canning jar lids. This rustically pretty Birch Bark Tree Topper was created by Melissa @ Shabby Love. Adina @ Simply Country Life gave her old measuring tins some Christmas charm with burlap, {Read More}

Repurposed Christmas Candle Holder Centerpieces

I always struggle to figure out what to use as a centerpiece on my kitchen table during the Christmas season.  It’s hard to find one that doesn’t take up too much of the table, and doesn’t visually get in the way of seeing people sitting across the table from you, but I finally came up with one that was easy, inexpensive, and fits perfectly on a table.   I come across small vintage tart tins and Jellos molds in thrift {Read More}
